I'm doing some market research and trying to get an idea of what sorts of scopes people are buying/thinking of buying these days.
So- if you can, click on what sort of scope (feature/spec-wise) you either bought in the last few weeks, or would likely buy in the next couple of months.
And no, nobody's trying to sell you anything!
Any input would be appreciated.
Almost forgot- are illuminated reticles being available or not particularly critical to your choice of scope? |

I bought a Hawke 4-12x40 mil-dot a while back, it was a very nice scope but the poi was set at 35m ( I know you can adjust them in a few minutes ) and I use it mostly at 15-25m, so I sold it and bought a Hawke 3-9x40 AO with a MAP retical and it is perfect for what I want, the adjustable poi makes all the diffrence, the x9 works allright out to 35m which is about my limit, I now have some land to shoot on and I can reset the scope in seconds also it matches my QB78 very well.

Funny you should post this poll today Eric! lols!
Well now that I have a part time job that pays well I managed to save up some money and just today I got a 3-9x40mm Mil-Dot Scope for my QB78, The old Simmons 4x32 was the only thing limiting the performance of my QB78 so it had to be upgraded. The new scope looks really nice on the QB78! Not too much of an 'overkill' either.
Only problem being is that I haven't been able to zero it in or test it out as it has been raining all day Gave me some more time to put my QB78 back together after the polish job I've been doing on it lately, I'm just hoping the rain will stop by tomorrow though!

Got lots of different glass here.
What I think would be useful is a small mildot type scope in lower fixed power range {3x or 4x} ill. ret. with an easy to use {side wheel or lever} AO that has good clear optics.
I have some 3 x 12 and 3 x 9 that are bigger than I want since they're only used at 3x for feild of view. |

That makes good sense to me, Outdoorsman. I don't hunt, and if I did it would be small game, and with an air rifle or a shotgun, but my family hails from Northeastern Pennsylvania, where deer hunting is the biggest religion. It's thickly forested, yet most deer hunters want a scope on their rifles.
Never made sense to me!
