Are CO2 powerlets made by Crosman and Daisy interchangable. ie would Daisy's product fit my 2240.

Size wise 12 grams are the same size, so yes, though Crosman adds seal lube to the carts and Daisy has only co2 in theirs. Might want to make sure the seals are all being lubed well enough if you use the Daisy cartridges.
The 8 gram carts on the other hand are a completely different size, but are also more difficult to even find . . . |

All 12g cartridges "should" fit- but at least one aftermarket unit is known to sometimes be a bit tight-fitting in some guns (not Daisy or Crosman, it was 'American Eagle' or something like that- a brand that Wal-Mart carries/carried).
Awhile back- someone was going to see if they could use the caplets that are used in restaurants to power whipped cream dispensers- but I never heard any more about that(?). Apparently they had a cheap source for them and were going to give it a try. |

It's the "Brass Eagle" brand that's a problem, on some if you put pellgun oil on them to lubricate the seals it can make the lacquar on the case swell and jam the capsul, also some of them have a sticky lable on the side which makes them a bit tight.
One other thing to watch out for is using Crosman capsuls in Walther Leaver Action guns, on the valve arangement there is an O-ring which seals the capsul by fitting round the neck, on Crosman capsuls there is an end cap with a sharp groove round it and when you pull the capsul out you tear the O-ring out with it.

Ah- Brass Eagle- I knew there was an "Eagle" in there somewhere! Fortunately I've never had the privilege of owning any of them.
I don't know why all the 12g suppliers can't completely standardize on exact dimensions and end seal style. The bonus for someone with a Crosman gun is that just about anything will fit without damaging things- except maybe those Brass Eagles with the gummy labels which stick. So- for a 2240- I wouldn't worry at all about using 90% of the 12g caplets that are out there- especially not the Daisy units.
Anywhere in particular you are finding 12g Daisy caplets? The local Wal-Mart starting to carry them now- or are they just a better price than Crosman units? |

I haven't come across any problems with brass eagle yet and I hope not as I have about 1 1/2 boxes left to shoot off. Seems to have lots of room in the 2240 anyway.
Maybe I'll shoot my Daisy Powerline 1200 more often now. |
