Yo Guys.. i finally received my first Air Pistol the Baikal IZH-46M. I tried some test shots and it shoots great, can't wait to hit the range.

Well i am also interested in buying an air Rifle for competitions purposes and i was wondering what will be a good not-so-expensive-first-buy ? Cool

Thanks in advance !!

The "standard" target competition gun used by cadets and such is the Daisy Avanti 853CM:

About $360.00, which, for a dedicated match rifle, would be considered pretty cheap (a Walther LG-300 FT, which is a PCP Match rifle and has now been replaced by the Dominator 1250FT, cost about $2000 a year or two ago).

Of course, that's not to say you must use such a gun- any consistent, accurate gun could work for you- but you will have to adjust for it/with it as required.

How is this Avanti powered, is it spring piston? Single stroke pneumatic? Question

The 'Avanti' is SSP, but this is the beginners price point.

To make it a 10m shooter it should have this on the front and this type rear diopter unless you'd prefer 'cheaper' for front and rear . . .

Not bad for $110 with cheaper diopters.

Prefer high end? Good to buy used after it has a checkup.

Single stroke pneumatic, lever action. For some reason, Daisy doesn't have the 853CM listed in their store, but here's the 853C Legend:

Edit: Dangit- there's J. and I typing at the same time again!
