Had this half full bottle of yellowtail merlot and I figured it be fun to shoot with my 2240. I was using flat tip crosman .22 cal pellets and at 25 feet it wouldn't bust! So I got to 10 feet and still no luck.... I know this gun has to be powerful enough to break this bottle!

What is the cost of that stuff-- about $10 USD per bottle ? No great loss. There are more palatable paint-thinners.
I hope you were not drinking and shooting-that might not be safe.

Try something like the Gamo Rocket pellet...the one with the BB in the tip.

You're trying to shoot a cylinder (the bottle) which is basically one of the most structurally difficult things to break, especially if the shot isn't dead on flat- difficult with such a shape. You're also using a lead pellet which will deform fairly easily. If the bottle is full, you've provided some nice shock absorption to the mix.

Try emptying the bottle (?)

Lol I didn't buy it... Was left at our house by wifes cousin. We don't drink and she wanted it out of the house. So I thought what better way to dispose of it. Well it's back in the fridge now lol. I'll try some of them bb tipped pellets when I get some. I did notice the bottle flattened the pellets like they were spitwads. If you would like me to send you the contents of the bottle please send me a self addressed stamped ziploc bag.

Throw a cup in the next pot of soup, or other food item. Cooking removes the alchohol, but leaves all the flavor Smile

cheers

Super glue a BB to a hollow point pellet. You will have to correct for in drop in POI but it will do the job.

i've done that with crosman 4.8 grain silver eagles with
a standard 5.5 grain bb. that's 10.3 grains of smack down. Shocked
