Crosman 1377... no doubt. Out of the box it should be fairly accurate. 1399 stock and you got a nice carbine plinker.
If it's for someone (under 10) the comb drop with the 1399 stock may be too much for them to get the sights lined up. |

| Yeah, I'd say the 1377 hands down. It has higher velocity, and a rifled barrel. I've had a 1377 for a couple weeks now and am really happy w/it for the money. |

| I bet the 1377 is more accurate, even though it's a pistol. Definitely more powerful. The Grizzly is a dead end as far as modification, while there are tons of things that can be done with the 1377. Go with the Crosman. |

The Daisy Grizzly, http://daisy.com/shopping/customer/product.php?productid=16133&cat=249&page=1 is fitted with a smooth-bore barrel, meant more for shooting Steel BBs, as opposed to the Crosman 1377, http://www.crosman.com/airguns/pistols/1377C which features a rifled barrel, intended to shoot the more accurate Pellets from.
The Grizzly, is a "repeater" when using BBs, but both Grizzly and 1377 are single-shots upon using Pellets.
For backyard "plinking", a bottle of 6000 BBs (about $8-9 from Wal-Mart) can be pretty cheap shooting, but with the 1377 your options are more open, as you can obtain a shoulder stock (#1399), and have a short carbine, or really get into it and start modding with a Steel Breech that allows you to more easily mount optics, add a longer barrel, do all kinda internal "mods" that boost its powerplant, change over to .22 caliber.
Heck, I'm on a Forum Board where I've used a nearly stock 1377 as my "target pistol" for a Monthly Competition.
As for the "What would you buy", well, I got 3 of them 1377s, and no Grizzly.  |
