Found this on craigs list, ad just said Crosman Rifle 50$. So I call, dude tells me its a 1399. I assume its a 1377 with a 1399 stock. I get over there and this is what i find

A AS2250, that some douche bag had attempted to modify to run off a little bity air tank and a mini bicycle tire pump.

I asked the dude if he modified it he said no, when he recieved the rifle it was like this. I pumped the stupid lil tank up and dry fired it, it cycled, but make a goofy sound because it odviously doesnt have the necessary psi. I offered him thirty only because Ive heard on this forum there are alot of mods that can be done, I want to run 9oz paintball tank like this guy did

What else can be done to this gun, I tried to serch but it brings up way to many to sort through. If some one could point me in the right direction that would be great![/img]

You should be able to remove the existing tank and fittings. Then a 88g AS tank should screw right in. A fitting from B&A (about $19 IIRC), will allow you to use a 9oz or a 13CI.

How does the CO2/air get from the rear Air Source fitting to the valve on the 2250XT ?.... There is no separate parts diagram for that model.... It looks like it might have an external line in that photo but I can't be sure....

If that is the case, the valve must be different.... It must either be pressurized directly (through the side), or if the tube is pressurized, it must be sealed with an O-ring to the main tube.... and the front plug sealed as well.... If the tube is pressurized, how is the end force on the valve handled safely?....

Can anyone post a pic of the valve from a 2250XT (88 gr. Air Source model).... Question

The AS2250 "XT"

is an AS2250 with a scope ('X') and wood stock ('T') on it from Crosman.

The plumbing on it and the AS2250 are the same- tube run around from the 88gr plug in to the modified valve. It's an awful lot of plumbing for what it accomplishes.

IF I understand that drawing correctly.... the front end of the valve is blind and has a hole on the left side sealed by an O-ring to the "plumbing".... correct?....

This gun doesnt say XT on it anywhere! Just AS2250, does this make any difference?

There's tons written up on these. Do some forum searches. The pretty much anything written in reguardds to the 1377, 2240 2250, 2260 and the varients applies to all. Can also include the benjamin discovery as well. In as much many of the parts are interchangable.

XE is the model that has the wooden stock and forearm, not the XT.

and yes Bob, the air valve is different, and not interchangeable, with valve in 2240/2250/2260. B&A does sell a BOSS valve for it....only aftermarket one I've seen available, but then again I haven't really been looking.

I'd suggest getting the Air System straightend out first... then mod from there...

Out of the box... the best 2 mods are the B&A MaxFlow valve and an 18" barrel will give ya the most bang for your buck...

Basic trigger work is easy. Just don't lose the safety's ball and detent spring when you take it apart.
Polish all contact points of the trigger and sear with emmery cloth... Different size sear springs or an adjuster will efect your trigger pull... Ace and Tru-Value hardware are great places to get different springs. Soft springs are best used with a spring guide... Not hard to make with basic tools... I like using Delrin plastic but nylon works great too..
Put a dab of grease on the pivot points and contact points when you put it back together...

To reduce side to side trigger play... I use delrin shims that I make on my lathe... Basicly paper thin plastic washers with a 1/8" center. One on either or both sides of the hing pins for the trigger and sear depending on how much play is in them...

This should keep ya busy till your ready for more...

Ordering the paintball tank to air sorce adapter after work, have to look up that 18" barrel, thanks for the help man!
