I got a Crosman Storm on the way, I think I should have ordered a sling for it, I'll be carrying it through the woods. I'm not sure though if it will work well enough on the desing of the Storm. I was thinking that I might have to attach it by a couple screws or something, anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

I may be wrong, but I don't think the Storm has sling studs on it from the factory, so you may need to buy a kit and install them yourself (some drilling and screwing). The next question is: where to place the forward stud/where to attach the end of the sling- I'm thinking that attaching it to the barrel might cause issues with the barrel breaking open while it's being carried. Now that I think about it, I've never put a sling on a break-barrel (?!).

Thanks Eric.
You read my mind, lol, that was the next question; where to put the studs?

I was thinking about something like this -

Somewhere close to the end, but not the very end, might split. & one on the bottom of the butt end.

That kind of eyelet for your sling will only allow a narrow sling and will soon cause you pain when carrying it over your shoulder. You need a wider eyelet to accommodate a wider strap. I would place the eyelet just behind the open space for the cocking and in front of the barrel. This would mean the rifle would hang barrel down when slung.

I want one of those olympic like slings myself. At least I did till I found out the were 89 bucks. lol I'd have to have 2 of them anyway. one for my storm and one for my 2400. You know, the ones that you carry flat on your back instead of over the shoulder.

I found a good picture of one.

Anybody good with leather? lol

I think in general, if the gun has an articulated (i.e., two-piece) cocking arm, then you will probably have room for the front stud. If it is one piece, then you're stuck with either a barrel mount or coming out the side of the stock. You probably will wind up carrying the gun muzzle down, as donec says.

Here is the stud on my Crosman G1, which should have the same cocking geometry as the Storm:

And the Slavia 631, which has a ton of room. The fixed stud is commercial; the one on the hand stop I made from a carriage bolt:

I would go with real QD studs, rather than the screw eye approach. Walmart carries them, among others. My own personal preference is for the M1907 pattern leather sling, which can be used for shooting as well as carrying.
