Looking for some input between these two budget 10m rifles. Both are available in single or 5shot versions.
How is the relative quality of barrels, trigger, sights, (accuracy) etc?
By pyramid's specs, the trigger on the IZH is much lighter, but I've heard it exhibits some creep. It also has a bit lighter of a cocking effort.
The Daisy is several times as expensive, but both are within a range that I'd consider acceptable.

I'll be using it for non-competitive (for now at least) 10m shooting practice. I've spent a good bit of time behind bolt action .177 and .22 multi-pumps, but that was a few years back and I don't own those rifles.

I've been surprised not to find more comparisons of these two rifles.
Thanks

IMHO:

The 853 will shoot circles around the IZH 60/61 all day.........

The 853 is actually a 10M gun, the 60/61 is not. The 853 is also worth about 3X what the 60/61, so that is probably most of the reason you are having a hard time finding a comparison; they are just really different guns.......with different purposes

If your after 10M accuracy I would go with the 853, no questions......hope this helps......

I have heard good things about both rifles. In these times I would like to support products made in the US, though.

Chances are you won't be getting a 60/61 because they are usually unavailable.

Hope this is allowed- the 61 is available/in stock at pyramid air at the moment for $109

To jgoodz, thanks for the input. I'd heard some rather good things about the accuracy of the IZH, despite it not being a specific 10m gun.

On the price point, the IZH 46M is also several times less than its closest (german?) competitors- didn't know if there was a similar thing going on here.

Also remember that the IZH 60/61 is a springer, and as such is going to require some technique to shoot accurately. The 853 is a single stroke pneumatic, with less vibration and recoil.

I would go with the idea that if shooting accurately is your main point- the Daisy 853 is the only choice here. The IZH-60/61 is a cosmetic item, nothing more.

the Avanti is VERY accurate...

i did the trigger modification and it helps some.

beyond that, there's not much that can be done to the Avanti...
