airgunsforfun,
I was trying to read it for you, and could not get an accurate account of all targets. I may be wrong but I see 5 points so far.
Might I make a couple of helpful suggestions?
1. Use a piece of color-contrasting paper underneath the target paper, to allow for shots to show up more clearly.
2. Try to take a picture from directly over it, if it is sitting on a table, or tape it up to a wall and take a head-on photo. A fellow I used to know would take his .22LR targets and tape them to his window and use the sunshine outdoors to show his groups.
3. Another thing, to minimize tearing of the paper, a slightly heavier paper (I'm currently using 32lb paper, have tried 20lb, 24lb and 110lb card stock), and securing the paper firmly (I don't know what you attach it to too shoot with some cardboard backing which can help minimize tearing. |
on second thought ill shoot it with a color paper behind it
but what should i tape it to to shoot at thanks! |

Use a coloured paper behind the target when photographing it, and as T191032 says take the photo square on to the target,
As for backing try an extra sheet of paped or very thin card, a lot depends on the fps of the gun you are using, once you get below 350 fps it's hard to get a clean hole using wadcutters. Also make sure the target paper is dry, damp paper will tear ( try ironing it first ).

Thanks Bob,
I have been nothing but impressed with the gun, and the MPR FT stock makes it that much better.....
Cheers,

Trying to get back in a routine....
I think this match is still running (end date of 1/31 is noted in first post but that would have only been a week).
Been playing around with some of my crosman parts. This is low power with only a 7.5" barrel but so far it feels like a configuration I'll keep for a while. It's a little (ok it's ALOT) on the light side for precision shooting but it pops cans like a champ!
Technically - I shot a "rifle" this week :-) .
gun: 2xxx Custom
Pellet: RWS Hobby .22
Dist/Pos: 10m / Standing
Score 69/160
Time ~8min
Min.

I wonder if you shouldn't be giving out 2 "top marks", 1 for rifle and 1 for pistol, since there is no real reward. I haven't gone back through the previous contests, but it must be pretty hard to win this with pistol
cheers
Jeff
ps. then I shot a 92 with my p3 lol (doesn't count, posted my scores already ) |

Actually, a lot of fellows (me included) do better with a pistol at 5M than with a rifle at 10M.... but I see no harm in recognizing both.... it would give me a better chance with a rifle....
that reminds me.... about time I started shooting again....

The problem is that we only get a few shooters each fortnight and by splitting the competition in two, one for pistols and one for rifles means that sometimes we only have two competitors.
If the present trend continues and we get a regular crop of shooters then I’ll have a look at it and split the disciplines. Probably for the next target.

This is not my entry but I decided to take another shot the current target without any pressure of the match and to take my time (7minutes to 14minutes). The result was a nice increase in my score 89 to 115. I hope I can continue this into the next competition.
