OK, when I shoot my Beeman with the .22 cal barrel on, my scope moves. I can adjust it and hit bullseye's for about 5 shots and, then it starts shootin further and further away from the bullseye. I am certain my scope is moving because of the shock and force of the shot.
I'm thinking "Loctite" on the screws for a fix. Anyone had this problem and figured it out? Need help. Thanks.

This is a very common problem with springers. There are really 2-3 options.

First the use of Blue Loctite is a must just be sure to use the blue kind and not the red kind. The blue kind will release while the red kind is stuck together forever.

The second option is to use a scope mount with a vertical scope stop pin http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Beeman_5031_30mm_Rings_High_9_5_11_5mm_Dovetail/1946
Just be sure there is a hole on the top of you gun to line it up with. If there is no hole in the gun you could drill one but I wouldn't adivse it.

The third option is to buy a scope stop which is pretty cheap http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Beeman_Scope_Stop/688

Just remember Blue Loctite is good Red Loctite is bad.

Thanks for knowledge, fireman. I actually have a one-piece scope mount with vertical scope stop but, the hole in my Beeman is too small for the pin. The 8 bolts that hold the scope in place on top were the problem with loosening. I went ahead with the BLUE loctite. I'm letting it cure til tomorrow. Hope it works.

I'm in the same boat myself. I have a one piece mount with a set screw and the hole in the top of the gun. With everything lined up and tightened the scope still came loose after 200 shots. I'm trying out the blue loctite and am hoping that will be enough. Good luck. let us know how it works for you.

there's a number of 'fixes' for this problem.

#1...the vertical pin (normally a roll pin) in your mount may be removed and replaced with the appropriate sized and spinning the diameter in your drill press/lathe to fit the smaller hole of the rail on the rifle.

all this may be accomplished in a drill press with files and emory/sand paper and patience if you don't have/have access to a lathe...but it must be a secure fit. install using locktite blue once all adjusments are finalized.

#2...you may also drill and tap a set screw into the existing vertical pin hole to insure it seats properly once the pin has been removed.

LAP THE SCOPE RINGS THEMSELVES to ensure a proper fit of scope tube body to ring mounts. this is especially important if you're mounting the scope to a springer.

I've shot 700 rounds thru it since the loctite and it's still holding true. It's a great shooter/hunter, I've harvested 10 squirrels and, eliminated 2 crows since the fix. Most of the squirrels were head shots up to about 25 yards.

I don't have a micrometer but, pretty much within about 3/8" of each other. I posted a pic here:

I think when your poi goes to one of either sides, in stead of up and down or all over the place, you might have something wrong with your crosshair. When the scope moves back, you will get spreading that goes up and down.

Just my two cents. Wink

Oh, I have the Beeman squared away for now. Hope that Loctite holds.

I looked at the stop you mentioned and I am not sure how it works. I mean it clamps to the dovetail grooves in the rifle just the same as the scope mount so what keeps it from moving? Is it because of the extra screws making it hold better? Do you mount it behind the scope to keep the scope from sliding backwards?
