Better quality, and reliable. The Walther Talon is a turkish made Hatsan that was rebatched. Not a tremendously bad rifles, but that brand doesn't have a great springer history. They also produce the AT-44-10/Halestorm PCP. I realize that the B21 or B30 are side lever rather than break-barrel, but either one with 3-9x40AO scope with one piece mount would keep you under the $250 level. Best Airgun has them sale priced, and that includes a free Mike Melick pre-ship inspection if desired. I have found there are some advantages to a fixed barrel side cocker in dense woods. Also, a fixed barrel usually does not have the barrel "droop" issue when trying to scope. It is pretty powerful, but once you learn to work with it, it wont let you down. I get fantastic groups with mine at 27 yards. Look around, the used once are selling for around $250-300. Not knocking the 34P, because I intend to get one of those myself for playing around in the yard. But, for strictly hunting, I would go with the 350 myself.   Posted: Sun Jan 10, 2010 3:03 pm domer_pyle Senior Member Joined: 17 Sep 2009 Posts: 523 lately i've been itching for a NPSS for hunting because of the low noise level and gas piston which means you can cock it before you actually see any game. 50 over your limit though. did you have a caliber in mind or just going by what fits the budget?
