THIS IS A FORTNIGHTLY TARGET, SHOOT ANY TIME IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS

EVERYONE WELLCOME

Target to download and print: Fortnight 102; Dec 28 > Jan 10 /2010

1)Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.
2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.
3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
3a) The rules for shooting 5m or 10 m are that the distance from the target to the firing line should be 10m for rifle and 5m for pistol.
All shots, from whatever shooting position must be made with the competitor wholly behind the firing line but able to touch it.
Basically the shooter should be behind the line but the part of the gun not being held by the shooter can protrude past the line.
4) All targets to be shot standing
5) Any sighting device may be used.
6) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.
7) 18 shots total, 2 per target maximum. Up to 5 sighting/practice shots not on the clock using the Green
8) 15 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 15 minutes-stop!).
9) Scoring is 10 for Red, 9 for Purple, 8 for Blue, 7 for Green, 6 for Yellow. Only Two hits per target counts. Maximum point count is 180
10) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list gun, pellet, sighting device and total time expended.
11) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries, only one entry for each, but all rules must be followed.
12) Score your own target. Winner and Runner-Up will be verified by board officials.
13) An honourable contest for sport- to lie or cheat, is the only real loser. Please keep it above-board!
14) Each competition runs for 2 weeks. Your entry must be posted in the forum no later than 23:00 GMT on the last Sunday.
15) These rules are for this week's shooting competition and may change for others

Please make sure that the blue border is visible on your entry, plus the green dot is 12mm diameter on A4 paper.

can I use my pistol at 10 meters? I don't have a diopter shorter than 10 meters.

Shouldn't that be 18 shots total, 2 per target maximum?

Yes no problem Todd, you can shoot from any range provided it is the same or more than the one set.

Thanks Bob, I use the previous fortnights text and update it for the new target, guess I missed that bit. Shocked

I got a couple questions.

Does a hit only count if you hit the shaded area within the figure or does a hit outside the shaded area count if it would still be with in the scoring ring?

I just got a new scope for my gun for Christmas and need to get it sighted in in general. Can I sight my scope in and then start shooting for the game?
Is the 5 shot practice rule for the point you don't get warmed up shooting and my shooting to sight in my gun there by break the rule/point?

Welcome to AirGunHome willf650, for the target shoot you need to get you pellets in the shaded area to score, as fo the pratice shots you don't have to shoot them if you don't need to.

Good Luck

Al

Help out a newbie please. How in the world do you get these targets to print the correct size? I guess I'm young along with the "DUMB". Thanks Embarassed

When I tried to print it to what I guess is the correct size I couldn't do it from a web browser. I had to save the image to my computer and then print it from a photo printing wizard.

When I tried printing directly from the browser it was obviously the wrong size.

I'll give it a try today since I'm off work. I suspect my score will be less than 50. Haven't shot a gun in years. I have to go to a rifle range just to shoot my air rifle around this area for fear of either trespassing or getting in trouble for shooting. Its now illegal to shoot a "BB gun" in any county property, ie a park. The law is worded where its actually illegal to have any type of gun in your possession much less shoot it.

Enough with the talk, good luck.

The target is the correct size it's just that diffrent printers treat it diffrently, do as willf650 does and set the printer to " fit to page", you should then finish up with an A4 print.
