I have a Remington Summit break barrel.
There are a few places online where people review the gun to be in-accurate.
This is not the case with mine. (it does NOT shoot Daisy pellets well)
This is with Crossman pointed pellets.
It shoots Crossman and Gamo pellets quite accurate.
This is at about 35-40 feet.
5 shots:

you can cover all 5 with a dime.

Powerful airgun that is quite accurate.
I have had alot of fun with my Summit.

The Summit, aka the "B18", "B19" Crosman Quest, Phantom, Tac-1, G1 Extreme, Remington Vantage- and a I think a couple more I'm forgetting are actually very good rifles (well, the ones made for Crosman anyways- so forget about "B18" and "B19") for the price.

Some do come out of the factory in less than top-notch shooting condition, but the longer these things are on the market, the better they seem to get bit-by-bit- the first couple years Crosman made them a fair amount of "tuning" was required to optimize them- less so now, although a good lube/tune and replacing the factory trigger still net some very good results.

In any event, very good shooting- you should try out the "Shooting Competition" (in the target shooting area). Welcome to AirGunHome.com

I actually have something to say about this stuff. Mr. Green While they may not be bad, and certainly quite accurate, I have seen (maybe older models, I can never tell with these) similar rifles which had some wear and tear marks at the hinge, decreasing it's accuracy. This also goes for Gamo, Hatsan and some other rifles I've seen, especially ones that are advertised as high power rifles. I haven't seen it on EVERY rifle though.

That being said, I'm not sure if they're improved or not. Rifles that use spacers in their hinges seem to have these problem far less. I have seen an old Gamo compared to an old HW30 (same price range, different quality range) and the HW30 was still quite accurate, while the Gamo seemed to have been worn down a lot more, and you could flex the barrel a bit.

In case of accuracy problems, this is one of the things you might want to check, be sure to use real thin ones that fit well.

Mine does have a spacer on the hinge.
The Summit has done me well. I have shot about 3,000 pellets through it.
My favorite pellets for that particular rifle are either the hollow point Crosman or the Gamo hunter pellets with the bb in the tip.

That being said, I am really considering an RWS Model 54 when my tax return arrives.
I held one at the local shop and it seems well balanced.
I'd bet it would work well for rodents in the yard! (my Summit and Benjamin pump up do as well)

I have Crosman Storm xt I think it's another of all those tha are basically the same gun, just different stock, or model name, etc...sure seems coincedental that it likes the very same pellets...could you use "feeler gauge" blades as shims ? they would wear well I would think.

IMO they would work very well if you could cut them to size the only ones I have seen were made of spring steel so very hard to cut.

Exactly why I thought they'd work good. Aircraft shears should give you a clean cut.
