I have the chinese built, "WalMart" Beeman dual calibre. I called Beeman a while ago and they said don't oil it. BUT, this is a Chinese built, not German so, I'm thinking they surely used different(cheaper?) seals. Any advice, thoughts? I have some Crosman silicone chamber oil that I'll be using if it's a go.

it's always been my understanding that a springer with synthetic
(not leather) seals never gets lube...???

for some reason i have never had a clear answer on this myself. Rolling Eyes

Owner's Manual for my Crosman Storm XT says..."apply a drop of Crosman RMCOIL every few hundred shots into the compression chamber." That is the only mention of lubrication that I see in OM. I would think the same would apply to all springers...hell the Storm XT is Chinese too.says so right on the r/h side of the barrel .

Silicone oil in the chamber (just a drop or two) shouldn't hurt anything.

I would be suspect of Beeman's assertion not to lube it. It's a mechanical device with moving parts, and wears over time. A proper lube to minimize such wear is not a bad idea. Beeman, however, does not sell any parts for it's Chinese-made stuff- guns need to be sent back to them for parts and repairs- so I find it curious that they say not to lube; maybe this helps keep their service department busy. Or, maybe the person you spoke with is somehow not familiar with silicone lube and assumed you were talking about a regular, petroleum-based oil.

Well, it's a springer, so I'm gonna venture a guess and say "yes"...dang, I do so dislike a "pop quiz" Crying or Very sad

for brand name I say RMCoil by Crosman.

With no pertinent details like age of gun or number of pellets shot, severity of ambient environment etc. It difficult to give any pertinent advice or thoughts. Could this be why the Beeman response was so benign?

Everybody- get some silicone lube and dribble a bit down the transfer port into the combustion chamber.

At the absolute worst, and this is if the piston seal is made out of Jell-O or something, it won't do anything. Typically, it's going to minimize detonation potential and keep the seal sliding in the tube. Just don't over-do it- a couple drops is plenty.

f#ck Beeman and their advice- I've gotten all sorts of stupidity out of them in the past. This is not the "Robert Beeman Company" as it once was, it is the "Marksman-owned Chinese sh!tbox rifle Beeman Company" (in my opinion, which I must state for legal reasons so I don't get my a$$ sued off by them for saying it).
