Hey all,
I am really liking the RWS 48.
I am an ambidextrous guy who shoots left handed. I am trying to figure out if the side lever will cause any problems for a left-handed person when shooting. I understand that I will have to move my hands to cock, but that is not an issue for me... I just dont want to get the rifle if the lever will prevent a leftie from shooting it...
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks,
Travis |

| If you're ambidextrous, it likely won't be an issue for cocking, it's loading a pellet than might get to be a pain depending on how you do it. |

Ahh, ok that makes sense!
I had seen reviews and comments that lefties should look else where but it never really gave a reason.
I actually do most things right handed so loading the pellet will not be a problem for me.
...I was born during the era (1970) when doctors encouraged parents to force left-handed kids to be right-handed, so I do most things right handed. I throw a ball left handed, bowl left handed, and shoot left handed... |

Are you right, or left eye dominant? You should shoot with your good (dominant) eye. Either hand can be trained to do the simpler task of applying pressure in a straight line on the trigger. Your eye coordinates every muscle you've got (through your brain), so you should use the good one. Also, in times of stress bloodflow is reduced to the non-dominant eye (like after climbing a hill, or on sighting a monster squirrel).
Every year our hunter/firearm safety course has about 80 kids, and usually a couple are cross-dominant. Your eye and hand dominance might be the same, or they might not. Check it out:

| remember that you have stepped into the world of a magnum springer. you'll have to learn to manage the recoil of the same, other wise, the RWS is a fine rifle...enjoy... |

Me too but I am right eye dominant. Kinda funny, but my kid is right handed by birth but left foot and left eye dominant.
She tried to shoot right handed (indoor small bore league) but they quickly figured out she is left eye dominant. |
