Make your own holder with dense grey shipping foam.

I usually just carry a screwtop case that some cheap chinese domes were packed in. It is about the size of a quarter, about 7/16" thick and holds enough pellets to hunt all morning or all afternoon.

Holds about 100 .22 or 150 .177 pellets and keeps sweat and dust off of them. Black powder '#11 cap' tins are about the same size and that is what I used before I got these plastic containers.

When I load for the first shot, I'll hold 2 ~ 3 pellets against my palm with my little fingers for follow up shots.

I have used foam holders before but found it was easier for me to just palm a few follow up pellets than it was to try to dork around with the foam holder.

I've also been known to klutz buttons off and break zippers as well though.

I've never used those sorts of holders- but I'm the guy who will rub it up against something and lose half the pellets on the ground, or rub them on something nice and clean and leave a dark gray lead streak behind.

What can work for people like me is a simple leather 'pouch'- like the ones cub scouts have (had?) that would hold their compass or band-aids or what-have-you:

I've also heard some people take a pellet tin, solder a flap on one edge, then drill or cut a hole on the lid where this flap would be once the lid is on tight. The idea is that they attach this to their belt, then rotate the lid a bit to move the hole past the flap, let a couple pellets fall out, then tighten the lid over the flap again. I've never seen one, but it strikes me that this could result in a flood of pellets out the hole and possible crushing a pellet or two when closing.

where would i get dense gray shipping foam?

I remember having those things in scouts. I dont have them any more but I do still have the US military ones. I think id rather have something that can attach to my gun to make it more convenient for target shooting though. Since I dont hunt, it'd be easier put a noisy tin full of pellets in my pocket instead of digging out my long lost pouches

Dense shipping materials and packing foams can be found at department stores that carry heavy fragile electronic items like glass tube televisions, stereo speaker components, computers, etc . . .

Ask a stocker for some stiff packing foam for a school project, and that of course is the best price . . . Wink

I made this pellet holder the other day for use with my QB78 when using a bench rest, it holds 60 pellets which is about the amount of good shots I get from a Co2 refill.

It is very handy as you can keep count of how many pellets you have used per fill and it gives you some idea when to expect the the power to drop off.

If you want to make one, the only critical measurement is the hole size, which for .177 cal is 4.6mm, large enough for the head of a pellet to drop through but small enough to stop the tail.

For my Guns that use a magazine I use a converted electrical tape holder

I'm working on it Eric, I've been away for the weekend and drawn up some design's which I will knock up this week and see which works.

It wasn't until I bought a single shot rifle, that I realised the need for a single pellet dispenser, so I will see what I can come up with this week.

Looks like Al used a die-stamp to put those numbers on the holder.

The electrical tape holder can be purchased through electrical suppliers- there's thread around here somewhere with the details. It costs about $15 in the U.S. and more in other countries (3m stuff ain't cheap).

I only got one mag for the airmagnum. And I don't think I'll be shooting it for a while. Besides, new mags are way to expensive. To bad. Crying or Very sad

In other words, I don't need a pelletholder. Yet. Great Idea's there though! Smile
