So, I went to the huge tools sale that I had posted about .Bought one of the $19.99 pistols, brought it home and ran about 20 rounds through it....I have taken it aprt and want to work on the trigger I figure if I mess it up it's no big deal...Has about 64 lbs of trigger pull and feels like there's gravel in it.Seriously...but I expected it to be what it is...a $20.oo pistol...SO, here's what I need to know...if I smooth out the mating surafce between the sear (18) and the ttrigger (16) wouldn't that fix the "notchety, ratchety" feeling? Aso, if I trim a wee bit off the back end of the trigger (where it contacts the sear) wouldn't that shorten up amount of trigger travel??? Like I said=it's a $20.00 gun, so I expect nothing spectacular, but I figure I could make it a little better and the amin thing is get some hands on training....I plan to learn and do some of the "tune-up stuff to increase/improve performance of my Storm XT. I figure working on this junk can't hurt, huh?? Any adivce (other than throw the pistol in the trash) would be welcome ! TIA-Rodger

I would believe you need to add to the trigger blade to do that.

Kind of hard to tell from the drawing - it would help if you posted photos or sketches of what the parts look like in relation to each other.

In general, use a slip stone or sharpening stone to keep the surfaces flat and straight. Try not to change any angles with your honing. Try to not round over any sharp corners that "break" when it lets go. Don't forget the sides and inside of the trigger housing. Maybe add thin washers for shims.

I meant to go further with teardown, but the trigger blade and sear are riveted in, not just roll pins. I thought I'd ask if it was even worth messing with before I drill out those rivets and have a good look inside the little housing. guess I'll just do it..like I said it's a $20.00 deal, so........

Right you are! I got up this morning, cut rivetheads off with my dremel, and tore everything out of it except the spring/piston..Easy to see how it operates, so I removed all the scratches from sear and trigger where they mate, sanded and polished 'til they were waaaay smooth. Found a heavy duty spring in my "junk" drawer that's like 3/64" shorter than the sear spring, so I replced it....made trigger pull much better. Anyhow, I'm just pleased as hell with the whole thing. What little I did madetrigger easier to pull and a lot smoother pull !! Has micrometer elevation and windage sights, even has a RIFLED barrel, which is more than I expected. Anyway, got it sighted in pretty dangf close, ran maybe 15 pellets through it and the friggin' spring broke. So, I'm gonna take it apart and see if I can find a replacement spring for it, hopefully one with a little more "OOOMPH ". YEAH, I AM having fun tinkering with it. definitely worth the $20 bucks Smile

Got any ideas on where I should start looking for a spring? or do I need to take the broken one out first to measure it???

edited @ 1:41 pm--Tore it apart..spring broke in TWO places, not just one.. So, spring is 139 mm long (5 9/16"...5.55 in) and is 17mm diameter (25/32"....0.79 in.) what are chances of me finding a replacement that's maybe got more ooooommph if possible ??? TIA-Rodger

all i can add here is what slavia mentioned about a chrony.

i see one in your future packrat.

they are a MUST for an avid airgunner!

the f-1 chrony is around $75.(the base model)

i have the beta model and it was the best $115 i ever spent!

a Bam S2 pistol...

Don't yer just love the way the fore site is designed to dig holes in yer hand while cocking it...
& with that amount of cocking force it should do 1000fps.."but it don't"

And as for the trigger......don't get me started....

But it can be made a very wee bit better...
by changeing the leverage ratio of the sear..."that bit
of 6mm sq steel that rocks between the trigger and piston.

COOL !! At least now I know what it is,,,had no idea and there are NO markings on it anywhere...You're right about the front sight, and the 88lbs. of force needed to cock it Laughing

But....what I need is a main spring..you can see from the picture how mine broke..who has any idea of where I can find one ??I figure I'll repair it this one time..not gonna spend more than another $20.00 on it...next time it breaks, it will go in the trash. I really don't even like pistols, I bought this one cause it was so cheap........ Now, how 'bout that spring???

If that is a ToolsNow truck sale S1 or 2? pistol which is what it looks like, just call them and provide the receipt info and they will refund your money or send a new replacement for the broken spring defective pistol.

Yep, that's what it is...toolsnow....gonna call 'em this morning and see if I can just buy a spring...I think I could shim it up with a washer or two to give it more fps..worth a try anyway..I found on Compasseco website the TechForce S2-1X, looks identical to mine except for wooden grips, where mine are plastic...have e-mailed already about just buying a spring. If I send the gun back, I'd have to do all the sanding/filing/smoothing on the replacement to it that I've done to the one I have now. By the way, if you buy the TechForce model for $29.95, you can get a second pistol for ten dollars more! Plus a free tin of pellets, plus a cleaning kit, plus FREE shipping..
