Tough to tell what that score would be. I'm almost surprised a 2289 could group that well for 25 shots in a row. Did you have to re-crown it at some point? You were at 20m/64ft, right? I'm not questioning your shooting, I'm actually questioning the 2289- seems kinda surprising!

The 2289 has had a lot of work done to it. I am very happy with the way it shots.

This is the same setup but shooting in the field target position 1 3/8” edge to edge. I think it could do better if I had a good rest

That's pretty interesting- not too much left of the original 2289!

Any idea of it's power output at 5, 8 and 10 pumps?

Also- what do you think of the Fitco scope? I've heard some people say they work fine, others claim they are just garbage. Perhaps though, that depends on what gun one is put on- I seem to recall the people who thought them to be garbage tried to use them on springers- not SSP, MSP, Co² or PCP guns. For anyone not familiar with 'Fitco'- they are a re-branded Chinese-made scope.

I don’t have a crony so I don’t know the power output. It does get more accurate with more pumps but at 5 it does well, that’s also when the pumping gets harder. If I pump it too many times the o-rings fail.

I have no scope to compare the fitco to so I don’t think I am a very good judge. My experience with it has been good it seems bright and clear. I wish it was adjustable for range. I played with the objective and I think it is better now. I still do a lot of moving my head trying to figure out what is centre.

You've used both Daisy and Crosman Wadcutters- any ballpark ideas of which manufacturers guns prefer one over the other?

I'm curious as Daisy pellets are hard to find in my area so I'm forced to use Crosman Wadcutters or order in a more specialty item like JSB Match pellets or the like (which is awfully pricey for wadcutter-type shooting!).

Only a few tins of the chinese Daisy wadcutters left, but used to be able to get them 10 tins at a time from wallyswurld for about $20 though the last few tins I found were about $5 each.

Now they're more scarce, but the Crosman are still in plentiful supply.

Crosman guns seem to like Croman and RWS pellets, but don't like jsb at all. Diana seem to be a little more choosy but most of the rifles shoot Crosman of some type well, while the chinese Daisy don't group in as many of the rifles and jsb is a toss up.

The Falcon likes kodiaks, jsb and cp but doesn't like Daisy or RWS pellets.

Sumatra gets different groups from the same pellets at different velocities, so selecting pellets is very dependant on the power setting.

The FWB 300 and Walther LGR shoot the Vogel match pellets at 575 f/s very consistantly, so that is what they get fed.

This P3 likes a slightly larger pellet and the chinese Daisy are in the 4.51 ~ 4.52 mm range while the Crosman wadcutters work well with the IZH 46m which shoots the 4.48 ~ 4.49 mm size better.

The Diana 6m likes the 4.495 ~ 4.50 mm size so the Vogel in that size and Meisterkugeln seem to group better.

The sleeves of Vogel aren't to bad with shipping if you are able to order in lots of 4 to 6 sleeves, but seems that not alot of people are shooting 30,000 ~ 50,000 pellets a year.

i get those same daisy tins for $4 at walmart, I just switched to those crosman wadcutters ($4.50 at walmart). My gun likes the crosmans a little better
