I have a Benjamin model 392 that I've owned for about 6 months or less. As a number of others have noted both on different forums as well as in reviews of this airgun, there is a significant (IMHO) between the forearm and the stock. This gap on mine is about 1/4"-5/16". Quite significant compared to a Crosman 140 or 1400. Why I have no idea. I've gotten no where with discussing this issue with Crosman. Does anyone know if the forearm could be moved closer to the stock to make up for this gap? I know there are two pins that go through the forearm. I plan to keep the gun and was hoping to at least make it look better if at all possible. I realize that most will probably feel its no big issue and just live with it. I, however, would like to fix it (or have it fixed). Comments?

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Maybe you could attach an alu or brass plate to the pump arm?

You could move the wooden part of the pump arm, but I think by the time you drilled new holes and filled the old ones the fix would be even uglier than the original problem.

I like Brutuz's suggestion, especially the brass. With care you could file the brass down without disturbing the wood finish. I did a similar thing with aluminum on the butt of my Slavia. I did the mounting screws first, then rough-cut the metal to within 1/16" of the final outline. Then I put a single layer of masking tape on the wood and filed the metal down until the file started scuffing the tape. That leaves you about 1/64" too big, which isn't noticeable.
