I'm a bit confused here. Joe has had some setbacks I understand recently, and if Roger had noted this perhaps he would have posted differently (?)

That being said, and this is neither a defense or a condemnation of anyone- but why would this result in the "chasing off" of someone from a forum? The twig that snapped the horse's back?

Over the last 10-15 years I have seen alot of conduct on alot of forums, and to call this, if it could be construed as such as "abuse" or "harassment" or whatever, would be, I think, somewhat of an overstatement.

It's too bad Joe has decided to take his marbles and go away, but I'm not seeing any sort of real "abuse" or any real, malicious harassment of any sort. Am I just missing it somewhere?

Ok, seriously. I can't believe Joe got that bent out of shape. We've been goading each other on and off with these gay jokes for what....a year and a half now? It's always been in good fun.

Remember fellas, I'm just some guy on the internet. Don't take anything I say too personally.

From what I understand of it- Joe had mentioned his objections to all this "gay" stuff to you (Roger) in the past- and had also communicated with you via PM about stopping it.

While it may have been though to be "all in good fun", it appears this may only have been a one-sided situation. Seriously- it obviously has not sat well with Joe and perhaps you should send him a note about this- without any possibly offensive overtones.

It can be hard to tell online what genuinely offends someone and what is a joke, but if there had been some private communications outlining that this sort of humor directed at them was not appreciated or welcome- that should have been the end of it.

well guys,I hope to see this situation work itself out.Sometimes when people are under stress,or going through hard times they are more sensitive than usual.Since I have been on the forum I've learned a-lot about my favorite new sport, from a great group of guys, and have been able to help others enjoy this great sport."That's what it's really all about"

I don't know Joe personally, but in my communication with him,he has always been quick to lend a helping hand, and is a great guy.Hopefully someone that knows him well on a personal level can talk with him.Times are rough for a-lot of us these days,so maybe he just needs someone who is close to him,for a good ear-bending session?"Just a thought" Mr. Green"Oh God,the sensitive side of me just came out for a sec".No Roger I'm not Gay.... These are exerpts Joe had written to me in the past:

"Despite our banter back and forth... I am just an easy going guy who likes to raz others... "
"Hey Roger... I am starting to miss our banter... "

So you can see why I said what I did and why we are a little surprised Joe flipped out. I mean, that was the first gay comment I'd made to Joe in months probably. It's not like I'd been bombarding him with those comments non-stop until he finally snapped.

And yes Eric, I agree with what you said. But I have a feeling this will all blow over soon.

I think the relaxed way this board is managed and the way all members contribute gives it a warm "home-like" feel.

'All noses in the same direction' (translated from a Dutch saying).

I believe 'All the wood behind one arrow' is a common expression in English.

We learn English at school, expressing thoughts when something is going on wasn't tought when I attended, I hope my message is clear, it comes from the heart.

Have sent Joe an email earlier tonight, hope he'll join us soon.

Could we please delete or replace pink smilies?
