Well my camo .22 Quest has for its forst blood.
I took down about 8 Sparrows yesterday.

I have to post up about the difference I am seeing coming from a g1 .177 to now a .22
With the .177 I would hit a bird and it would put it down,it would almost freeze it in its tracks.

Now with the .22 Quest its another story
When it hits a bird the impact with throw with bird a fw feet back and up in the air.

Its awesome.
I had about 20 birds in from of my pellet trap and took a shot and seen feathers and though I missed.
The I noticed the impact of the pellet tossed the bird 3 feet behind the make shift pellet trap LOL!!

Then what impressed me the most if when I downed a bird, and gave it a second mercy shot.
The force was so strong it sh!t it into the pellet trap and blood was all over the trap.
LMAO

I don`t think I will even go back to .177

Whats the real difference.
I notice the FPS specs to be around the same as springers.

much more power ...with control cause you have no recoil ( maybe just a litle bit)

moreover most good pcps have got a 6-12 shot magazine

A decent springer is just as good as a PCP- but with recoil. Other than the recoil, the major difference in actual shoot-ability is that a PCP can, depending on what pressure it operates with, shoot fairly hard.

I'm not knocking PCP's, but a springer is far simpler and for the most part, cheaper to shoot (both operationally and initial purchase cost).

Well said,and that`s why I love springers.
The cost of shooting factor is huge for me.

I do think of springer shooting as an art, but the conventional springer is simply uncapable (because of the recoil) of shooting with match type precision. Now I bolded conventional because I'm not including guns like the FWB 300 or a JW-XX.

Recoiless powerplants are now the norm because they can be easily shot by the untrained.

a springers FPS specs are with 14gr pellets in .22...
a PCPs will do the same or better FPS BUT with much heavyer pellets
anything up to 32gr for some of the higher out put PCPs....

EG....My Evanix will toss a 32gr @ 1000fps
most springers will be lucky to hit 600fps with a 32gr

Speed / weight = energy ..and thats what dose the damage..
