I need to find the right hammer spring for it. It is bulked co2, with a B&A boss setup. I made up an adjuster and was wondering if you guys have any sugestions for a spring. I went to my favorite spring store ; ACE HARDWARE. and got some ; same dia. as the 2240; but diferent rates. Now im really conufused. should i go lighter or heavier? LOL. Any help ? I made a spring guide that adds about 1/8 " over all to the spring .Maybe that will put me in the ballpark, with out the adjuster. Im looking for the best shot count and Fps strings. ? I know its not an exact, and will take some time to tweek. I just want to not have to adjust with a knob. Yea i want it all LOL !! Does that make a diff. ? If it's anything like a stock 2240, you can reduce the hammer spring tension quite a bit without losing any practical velocity.... and you can nearly double the shot count.... but that is with an 8" barrel.... CO2 has a tendency to have the velocity reduce with each shot unless you let the gun warm up between shots.... it's very temperature sensitive.... If you shoot a string with the stock setup and then with less hammer spring tension.... and take the average velocity to where the "knee" of the curve is (the velocity drops off quickly).... you will probably find that the average velocity changes little with a big increase in shot count.... ie the curve is flatter and longer....The first fews shots might not be as powerful.... but the average performance hardly changes....
