I had a Daisy BB Gun when I was a kid.... the kind that carried "500" BBs in a big tube surrounding the barrel.... The loading port was on the top, just behind the front sight, and you turned the front cap to open the port....
Anyway, the thing jammed one day after I shot it, and I couldn't turn the cap to pour in another 100 BBs.... I had my hand over the end of the cap trying to force it and it went off....
Man did that hurt.... I had a dent in my hand nearly as deep as a BB and it bruised right up.... Close as you could get to penetrating skin without doing it....
Never told my Dad.... my bottom would have been bluer than my hand.... and worse, he would have taken the BB Gun away for a month.... Sure taught me a lesson without any true harm....

| I shot a bird with my bb gun shotgun from my window not long ago. It flew up and came right towards me. I instinctively raised up the gun to try to shoot the bird out of the air, however, the window was only slightly open. So when I shot the barrel was not pointing through the opening and the bb hit the metal frame and bounced back and hit me in the neck! But it didn't hurt and I had safety glasses on anyways. |

I think, looking back now I remember more stupid stories than I care to.
About 4 or 5 of us neighbor kids got together every weekend to have a "BB gun war", Our one neighbor boy used an old model 104 double barrel Daisy that his uncle gave him. After we were out of BB's and covered in welts we would take turns shooting the shot tubes up in the air both at the same time until, one day, we broke a plunger.
Even that is not as stupid as what I did with a model 96 Daisy. My family was sitting in the back yard on a very hot summer day in the mid 70's. My mother was under our willow tree when a bird landed in it. I never even thought when I pulled up and shot. I don't think the bird knew what hit because it fell stone cold dead. The problem is WHERE it fell. It fell directly in the middle of my mother's lap. Well, the bird may have been my target, me and my BB gun became my mother's, She ran straight up to me grabbed the gun, slapped me upside the head, and made off toward the willow tree. Shall we say that my punishment was nothing compared to that poor guns. I don't know how many times she swung that gun into that tree, but when she was done it was crescent shaped'
If that wasn't good enough after all of that she threw it in our burning barrel.
Stupid stories yes, but I wouldn't trade them for the world. |

Either everyone on this forum is "sandbagging" on this one or you aren't crazy thrill-seekers like some of the folks I used to hang around with. As a child, growing up way out in the country on a farm, the youngest child by 10 years, having to entertain myself, I emptied the shot out of a 12 gauge shotgun shell. Being the excellent marksman that I was (in my mind, anyway) I figured I could shoot the primer of the shell and cause it to fire. I shot several shots, inching closer when I didn't hit my target, until finally- BULLSEYE. It was hard to explain the bloody mark on my forehead to my parents when they got home from work. It's been forty years ago, so between my natural memory loss and the medication because of my disabilities, I can't remember what excuse I used. I do remember that the back of the shell hit me flat and left a perfect round mark and yes you could make out the brand of shell on my skin, too. This is the truth with no fabrication. Now if you would like some entertaining stories that get better with age, I had some fast cars when I was young (and single) and was an Infantry Paratrooper in the U.S. Army... |

Exactly how close where you to that shotgun shell?
The .45 auto I set off (that still had the bullet and powder in it...) disappeared. I did find the bullet a couple inches from where I had originally placed the round. |

| My neighbors cat snuck into our garage for the last time, it met its fate with 3 BBs. I was always a good shot shooting AT something but can't hit the bullseye on a sheet of paper to save my life. |

I can't remember exactly, but I can tell you I was Too Darn Close! . Just like- how high was I when I jumped off the roof of the house with the patio umbrella. Too Darn high! I replied to your question one time already but can't seem to find it. Since I'm a "low tech redneck", I'm sure I must have committed a computer goof. Anyway, I heard the shell go off, saw it coming and in the split second I thought oh-no! Live and learn, I guess. Only problem is that I'm a slow learner when it comes to dangerous (stupid) things. |

Well...my friend and I were about 10yrs old. I'm 51 now so things is kinda shady....but he shot this bird with his bb gun. Trouble is, the bird didnt quite die. It fluttered to the ground and began a long, seizure like action. I said "we have got to put it out of it's misery!!!" My friend took a few more shots at it but couldn't hit it. I figured the only way to hit it fer sure was to "hold it down". So I grabbed it, held it down...he came up next to me, so we were side by side...put the barrel right over the bird and fired. Well now the bird was dead but I had a "BB crease" in the underside of my wrist. Seems my friend didnt quite see that my wrist was there. That "crease" had the worst sting...I mean worse than a bee sting. My friend was really scared...heck we both were. From then on, if a bird hit the ground and he wasn't dead...I asked my friend to hold him down. He never would though... |

| quite a while ago (must have been a good ten years at least) when i had a red ryder, and my step bro had the daisy model 25, we had just finished up a day of catching crayfish down at the canal. with nothing to do with them and having brought them all the way back down the road with us, we decided to execute them in the driveway. needless to say it made quite a mess in the driveway, and on our muzzles. and my stepmother who isn't really known for her nice side wasn't exactly thrilled about it. the 2 uncles of mine that were visiting, and my dad continued to lecture us about killing for fun after my step ma got her say in the matter. o to be young and dumb... |

so me and my friend were sitting outside by a campfire and i had my crosman model 760 right next to me. He went in and got a bottle of axe deodorant spray and put it into the fire> Well its about 5 min later and the thing never blew up . (im sure you kno were this is going!) so i grabbed my bb/ pellet gun and was about 3 ft away when i shot it! The thing exploded up into a big ball of flames and burnt both of my eye brows off lol Thats about the dumbest thing ive ever done! |
