If you make one that absolutely could not work on a firearm for the purposes of study, you're probably ok. Once a device is able to be used with a gun, it is a suppressor and illegal unless you have a BATF permit. Also, just a hint- but you could port more specific/relevant titles on your threads; "Important question" and "Super Stuff" and so on is not descriptive, and what you think is "really important" is not necessarily true of anyone else. You are not the only person on the forum and the more you do this the more your posts are likely to be ignored (boy who cried 'wolf' and that sort of thing). _________________ ` I'd say "I care." All you have to do is apply for a class III license and pay a heavy tax. Really not a big deal. I wonder if you pressed the muzzle up against a soft target... say a human head? If the cavity created by the bullet would absorb some of the muzzle blast- thus making a larger would (blown off head?) and absorbing the sound.
