So, as some of you know I get overrun with pests like birds, Squirrels, Field Mice, etc... My house sits on a 500acre field, with some woods ( more field than anything ). I have a small section of my yard fenced in ( so my kids, and dogs dont wonder out in the field and get hurt / lost )...
I constructed a small Feeder / Bait totem. Its about 6.5ft High, and it has a small cup with Hamster feed in it, and 2 ears of corn nailed to the top board. So when these dirty SOBs come into my yard trying to shred up my gardens, Im hoping they will be distracted and lured to the delicious food hovering 6+ feet above the ground.
Its a feeder for nice song birds like Cardinals, Robins etc... But for squirrels, Dove, Starlings, etc its a Bait Trap. ( I also put feed around it on the ground for the field mice )
( I will be heading out in the field, and walking the treeline later on, hopefully bagging a few squirrels... mmm Squirrel Gravy, and beautiful Furs )

happy killing. i have something similar. i call it "the rat bastard excecution chamber" 
what's cool is to kill one while it's climbing the pole. then you can see the tuft of fur stuck in the pole.
