Most critters know my back yard is a "Kill Zone" and avoid it... Not this guy...
Disco-ized 2260 Carbine.... Nailed him in the neck from about 30+ yards, freehand... CR Premier HP.

Thanks Roger...
Most of the time I have bad timing with the Crows... Either I don't have my rifle out or they are in the front where I can't shoot...
Un-less I shoot from cover of the shop... |

| Yeah, crows are hard to shoot. When I shoot a male grackle I just pretend it is a crow since they look almost identical. |

Sorry…. I forgot the hunting story…
So there I was…. Just sitting out on the back porch with my trusty and never dusty 2260 Wanabe Disco Carbine just leaning on the porch rail…
I was disappointed when I missed a ground squirrel that was only 20 some odd feet from me… Darn… I forgot I was sighted in for 30 yards… I should have aimed low… That lucky little turd didn’t even give me a second chance… He was out of there...
Anyway… I proceeded to have a smoke and enjoing the slight breeze being it was all ready 96* and not even noon yet… so I kicked on the Arizona Air Conditioners to cool it down a bit…
About half way through my smoke… I heard the familiar and irritating caw of the crows…. I’m thinkin’ "Hell I might just nail one of the noisy little bastards today"….
So I loaded up.. Locked, cocked, and ready to rock… This time I left the lid off the tin of lead… Thinkin’ I might get off a second shot if need be…
Then they landed… 4 of them in the trees…. I picked the cleanest lane to one of them black devils… and BAM! Right in the neck and down he went with a bounce as he hit the yard…
Oooooo doggies… I finally nailed one of them bastards…. Woooo hoooo! |

With apologies to Edgar Allen Poe ("The Raven"):
This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing
To the fowl whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom's core;
This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining
On the satin wood and blueing that the lamp-light gloated o'er,
But whose velvet trigger breaking with the lamp-light gloating o'er,
She shall miss, ah, nevermore! |

No need to apologize, Slavia. Yours is as good as his. |

It's been too long since I read Poe... I have to be honest... I had to read it a few times before I got it...
Good job Uncle Slavia...
I bet you could tell us a few hunting stories.... |

She hasn't by any chance asked for a lock of hair or a fingernail clipping, has she? Does she have lots of dolls decorated with pins? |
