Most cameras have a micro/close up setting. Also, you can take the picture from a foot or so away, and if it is a high res camera (5mp or more) then you can crop the picture around the pellet and it'll make it look bigger.

But considering most people have to take pictures of themselves in their bathroom mirror because they don't know how to use their camera's timer feature, and the date imprint always reads 2005, because they don't know how to set the date OR turn of the date imprint function.....

I am using a Samsung Digimax s500 and yea I know how to use the timer function. But i dont know anything about a micro function on it.

I wouldn't do more than 20 with a vital shot.

You can increase the power significantly in 20 minutes by just putting a heavier hammer spring, so that more CO2 is released per shot. One major problem people face with this is that they put in one that is too heavy, resulting in excess CO2 being used thus being wasted.

A longer bolt probe and better seal around that will keep gas from escaping from any place but the muzzle (where we want it). The longer probe makes sure that the pellet is seated past the transfer port (which needs to be smoothed) so gas is not wasted.

WASTED GAS IS THE ENEMY.

Here is a quite interesting guide to modifying your 22xx valve assembly. It's easy and doable with just hand tools. Make sure you read and fully understand it before you screw up your gun.

EDIT: A longer barrel will also give you better gas usage up to like 24".

I don't think a 2240 would be much good at killin' critters past 20 yards. I think mine chronied higher than I'd expect it to, but its hard to get much penetration with a large, slower projectile. Though I did just get some 22 cal raptors, so that might give you another 10 yards in range.

If you hit the critter in the head with a brick, it's not going to penetrate much... but I bet the thing is dead!

A CPH moving 500fps at the muzzle is going 396 at 35 yards. That's 5fpe. Word on the street is that you "need" 4fpe to the head to kill a squirrel.

Check out airgun artistry website and what folks have done with their 22xx's.

I'm not sure the cost difference between them, but try some Beeman's Kodiaks. I love those things! If you can get your hands on them, the crow mags are sappose to be good too. Haven't really had the time or situation to try the silver arrows out yet that I have.

Lol Thanks crosman. The funny thing is my 6 year old finds it disgusting that I would dare eat a squirrel. But everytime my 3 year old is looking out the back window or is in the yard playing and sees a squirrel she runs in the house and says " Daddy get Lucy theres a squirrel". ( I named the XT for the kids lol ) And when i get one she likes to watch me clean them and is always asking her mom to cook em ( but she never does she is in with my 6 year old i think they conspire against me and my lil yard huntin buddy Laughing

Definitely. Family that doesn't like hunting or eating critters will scare off the squirrel from the yard. Don't worry about it because they will only run off and make more squirrels- that's why I let so many go.
