Don't need any diseases... Plus, humans skinned critters for the entire 100,000 year period leading up to the advent of rubber gloves in the 20th century. Maybe modern humans are led to believe that things WILL kill them, like eating raw meat. My grandmother refuses to believe that salmon doesn't need to be cooked 100%, so it's always burnt to hell and back. Especially since you can technically cook salmon (or most fish) in a pot with enough lemon juice to cover- then leave over night. I have no problem eating a done steak, though I prefer it pink in the center for better tenderness and flavor. I know that I won't die from touching dead critters, but in today's society we are taught that everything is dirty... yada yada. Although I have decapitated one before. Bludgeoning works well. Just pick up a rock, stick, brick, or anything nearby that is heavy and hard and just bash it over its head till its dead.
