I am ordering 2 remanufactured 2240's from airgun depot. I am goin to try and introduce myself to modding and tuning with them. Although i am not very mechanically inclined i feel confident that i can do some of the minor mods to them to be able to hunt with them. I cant wait to recieve these AG's and get started. After reading this forum for the past 2 weeks i think ive got "The Bug" Laughing I will keep all posted on how things are going with the 2240's once they arrive.

Mobley317 - when you separate the grip frame from the valve tube, there is a very tiny spring and steel ball that bear against the safety button. They're not going to come flying out, but do be careful that they don't fall out and get lost. Once you get them in a safe place, everything else is straightforward with no nasty surprises. Have fun with it.

Oh c'mon, the spring flying out is the best part. Cuz while your on your hands and knees searching for it on the floor, you can wonder if you'll ever be able to figure out where it goes and how to put it back in.

Well, you've joined the right group. I'm sure these guys will "help" you out with your "problem" just as much as they "helped" me.

I have two new airguns just because I joined this site so I could show off my 1955 Crosman 140. Shocked Rolling Eyes Wink

You're right Joe. Let's get back on topic. So why is the old guy in the pick on his hands and knees? Looks like he's about to get plowed.

So anyway, Mobley 317 - I have to apologize for leaving the kids unsupervised. They must get it from those dern video games.

Do a search of this forum and you'll find all kinds of references to the 2240. I made grips for mine. Rogerflat did a very effective camo paint job on his. Yourdaddyjoe mixes and matches Crosman parts like some kids play with Legos. Rsterne is the resident researcher on Crosman fluid dynamics. Two 2240's might not be enough for all the ideas you'll find.

Happy tinkering, and we'll all look forward to pictures of what your'e doing.
