Well, guys, I've finally got the beast sorted out, at least the .22 caliber barrel. It's now giving me 1/2" 5-shot groups on a consistent basis when I do my part, and the first cold shot is on target. Can't ask for any better from a $90 rig. Now I've got to see if I can get the same results from the .177 barrel. And now I keep on looking at that cute little R7.......plus, I bought a couple of chinese underlevers at a Cummings tool sale to play with. They need to be rebuilt from the ground up! One is so bad that if you pull on the trigger with the safety on, then release the safety, it fires. Sounds like some badly needed trigger work. I should have enough shop projects to keep me busy for some time.

Those Cummins/Industry Brand low-end models really are "projects" to say the least. Personally, I wouldn't kill myself over trying to make them perfect- you'll never get there. Smooth them out a bit and try to correct any major errors (like the safety issue) and then let your friends shoot with them when they come over- you keep the better guns for yourself. I call all these models "tuner trainers"- as in if you've never had a springer apart before, buy one of these $20 POS's and go to town- even if you FUBAR it- who's gonna care? Mr. Green
