I bought new CO2 cartridges and was excited to start plinking gophers in the yard. I put in a new cartridge, tightened the piercing cap and the entire cartridge discharged into the body of the rifle. Put in another cartridge and same thing. I got online and found this website and was wondering if anyone might be able to help me with this problem. The diassembly instructions and pictures are excellent and I have taken the gun apart, but I don't know what I'm looking for as far as the problem. I'm not an expert on those or how to repair/replace them. But others here are. Btw, was it a 12g or 88g co2 cannister? _________________ I done been assisted by the trees and rivers. Could you determine what area (by valve or by Co2 caplet) where the leak was coming from? _________________ ` I'd say "I care." But I'd be lying. I couldn't tell exactly where it was leaking, but the cartridge emptied almost immediately. Not being familiar with the part names or numbers yet, part of the assembly is still in the valve tube, how do I remove it?   Posted: Fri May 29, 2009 5:02 pm yourdaddyjoe Supporting Member Joined: 26 May 2008 Posts: 4027 Location: Tatorville, USA Remove the Stock by taking out the 3 screws on the under side. There is a little oblong hole in the bottom of the gas tube which you can see the Co2 powerlet and the seal as they come together. Carefully place a new powerlet in and tighten it down. Now you can see if the co2 is leaking at the seal. If this is the case... Order a new seal from crosman. Part #38-128 1-800-724-7486 Ask for Kim Yaddow Eastern Standard Time... Shipping will cost you more than the part. Installation is a little tricky but if you are handy you can do it yourself. There is a little keeper ring that you can un-screw with a curved pick through the access hole to remove the seal. The ring does not have to be tourqued down... it only keeps the seal from falling out.... Instalation is the reverse... be careful not to slip with you pick or you will have to get another seal... There cheep enough... so order a couple extras... I have done it the hard way before and it is a poop load more work disasembling the gun... Get er' done and go have some fun.... The brass tube doesn't seem like a real solid fit, but again, I don't know how the fit shold be. Any other suggestions?
