Hey, received two orders of pellets today, one from Pyramid and one from D and L airguns. I bought many different types and brands to try in my two new rifles. This time I bought pellets that are well known for being accurate and consistent. And one pack of Skenco lead free green monsters for fun. Mr. Green I am going to do a follow up post later with some pics and target paper, because there were a couple of pellets that were a big surprise.

Eun Jin Domed 28.3 g are cool and shoot very straight and hard. fairly tight fit

Diabolo domed were nice as well, very consistent

RWS domed field were very similar

But the absolute standouts were

RWS HOBBYS all 8 holes were touching, that's new for me, i guess pellets do make a difference!

and the tightest of the whole lot.......SKENCO GREEN MONSTERS Shocked

I was able to put 7 of these lead free sabots in the same hole! The hole was hardly bigger than 1/4"!! Shocked
and the 8th shot was 3/8" out. I thought the second shot was a fluke and then i though maybe the 2,3,4, were flyers and just missing huge, but nope. All hit the same spot on the wood backstop.

those were the best 7 shots in a row that I have ever released from any barell in my 36 years.

All of the shots were with my Phantom with the Leapers Tactedge reddot. Then, not believing i could repeat my luck with another rifle at the end of the shoot I tried the green monsters in my benjamin sheridan classic 22 and put 4 in a row in the same hole!

Wow, gonna buy a few more packs of these GREEN MEANIES!

I was shooting indoors, I am thinking the wind may affect these quite a bit outside.

When I get a bit more time, i'll post some pics. Smile

You're hurting your Phantom with the greens. I wouldn't use them too much.

Thanks, fritz

Really? Neutral

Why is that? It sure seems to spit them out in a straight line. Question

You just have to clean the barrel alot more often and use alot of oil, the plastic skirt tends to wear off on the rifling and can clog things up a bit.

Ah, I see. I do acctually smell melting plastic in the benjamin when i shoot them, and I suppose if they are melting a bit they may be leaving residue.

Good thing my barrel has been well seasoned with Mazola Corn Oil Razz jk

Dry fire it at a piece of wood sometime, if you get stuff that's not supposed to come out of your barrel, then you have some work to do. Mr. Green

630? That must make a THUMP!

Using the domed or the pointed? I'm just using the Phantom and they are falling out of the barrel onto the floor at about 3 FPS!

Ha, no acctually they go pretty good and very straight. Hav'nt chrono'd yet.

domed. they pack a wallop. 8 pumps give me 535 fps. i'm curious to see what they do in my marauder when i get it. i'm guessing high 600's Laughing .

kinda expensive for plinking though.

you should be able to open that thing(maurader), up and get more speed than that, (600's).
you might only get 10-12 shots per fill... but what d fudge....crank it up.
throw them EJ's at 1000fps.
can it do it?????????

no.

the higher psi gives more shots not power. it maxes at 28fpeish. tim has done one so far direct from crosman and he said accuracy is best not at highest power. he was doing low 800's with 18 grain JSB heavies. plenty for rats or cans. 40+ shots @25fpe is plenty for me! Wink

he did 10 shots into a nickel at 51 yards. JSB.
