Brett Favre has a long list of interceptions. Yet he is also known as one of the great QB's of all time.

Present even one hunter before me who has not lost a wounded animal to the hunt, and I will bow before him and relinquish all of my air guns.

I dunno- if the choice was my foot or a phone- I'd probably use the foot.

I do find finishing off the event with a telephone a bit amusing however- can we call Roger the call-in killer? How about the Bell Bludgeoner? Maybe the PacBell Punisher?

Remind me not to loan Roger my phone...

Well, I had sandles on first of all, and stepping on a bird's head isn't as easy as you'd think. Generally I prefer to blugeon if possible--it's a very quick death. And you can't do that very easily with your foot.

Can you imagine if another motorist had happened to pass by? They'd see a man standing in the middle of the road next to a bird, punching it with a telephone. Shocked

Even hard sole shoes can be soft enough to " bounce" off the head and leave the animal still suffering.

But, having my phone come in contact with the pestilence that the bird carries and then making my next call don't make a desirable combination.

Hmmm, I guess I dunno.

As far as Roger posting his woundings and misses, bravo. I mean, look at the title of his post.

Most of us miss or wound but never post them for just this reason. People think if you don't shoot perfect every time, you shouldn't be shooting. That's just not true.

I'll bet Roger's kill-to-wound ratio is very, very high.

The phone only came in contact with a tiny portion of the top of its head, so its not like the phone was soaked in blood or anything. And I wiped it off after.

Sometimes I have good hunts and sometimes I have bad. But usually I find that I go on streaks, and get several clean kills in a row before even a single miss or wounding.

If I used my talon all the time then I'd have probably a 90% success rate. But I like the challenge of some of my other guns so I choose to use them too.

Here's another issue. What if the bird had flown or gotten into an area you couldn't go after it. Hunters are faced with this if their deer takes off running and crossses a property line. It is illegal to chase after that animal without expressed (preferably written) concent. That means having to find the owner, perhaps contacting local fish and game...ect.

Be careful Rogerflat dont burn us all Airgunners only for a little bird, I would hate for california to put new stupid regs for airgunners, like they did this year with backyard air gun targetting. That's all it takes for the mediocratic politicians to screw our little program. I live in the city and I love to shoot my pellet guns, I would not geopardize that though for a Bird. I admit that when I was younger and I lived in a ranch I did it too but now living in the city I need to be more careful. Some have the advantage of living in a ranch and can do as they please, GREAT!, but us, Nahah. Why dont you try getting you hunting license and do some shooting out in the wild?or Try following up with c.a.s.a for target shooting. I dont make the laws our politicians do, and I would hate for them to blames us "the gunners" for it.
