I remember when I was in my young teens I would walk into the sporting goods department of a local department store and stare at a Crosman 1377 sitting on the shelf. Oh, if only my mom would let me buy it. Well, 30 years later I finally went out and bought it. I know it's built a little different than the original model, but it looks so much the same in my mind. Here she is right out of the box. First things first...get those ugly brown plastic grips off. Yikes...those things look awful! This looked like a good opportunity to adjust that heavy trigger spring. It has a much lighter pull now. I might end up with wooden grips some day, but black satin Krylon Fusion spray paint will have to do for now. And I must say...I like the look much better than the original brown. Kinda snazzy. And I decided to start out with a less expensive red dot sight. Keeps with the sleek look of the gun itself to my way of thinking. I used the 459MT scope mounting base. You can't force me...I won't go. heehee, kidding. Thanks for the comments. I guess as far as the steel breech goes...I hadn't planned on getting the steel one simply because I figured I might as well wear out the plastic one first. And I don't need, nor do I want to mount a sight over the loading bay. As you can tell, I'm kinda keeping this project on the less expensive side and I'll see how that goes. As far as the "Crosman brown" grips go...You know, even if Crosman simply used a deeper color brown or just cast the grips in black plastic. Sheesh! They must have gotten a good deal on puke-brown resin. But I really love the gun and it is making a nice addition to my now growing collection of airguns. It says it takes 1 hour and it can be handled, but it can take 7 days before it is chip proof.
