This 13-77 I got in a trade. It's bbl is the lesser of 2 that I had...
I spent a lot of time on the trigger, and I have it almost right, now. It wears Crusty B's delrin ftp , with the valve faced flat by me. Crosman steel breech and tasco .22 Red-dot. The black grips are from a 22-40, and seem a better (tighter) fit than the brown 13-77 grips.
That soda can shows 5 RWS Hobby, 6 pumps at 7 meters, with the pistol's pump handle rested over my braced left arm...
I haven't chronied the Hobby pellet yet.

I had the same problem with the brown grips, used sandingpaper to flatten them, now they fit tight.

Hey Al,
Have you heard of anyone facing the Co2 version's valve for a little more duration on the valve?

Yes it is indeed, plastic. It's the original that came on the pistol. I think I'll leave it as is- it's primary function is for pumping, and does not get used as a fore-arm grip for shooting much. I have the same on my rifle-ized 13-77, and it's a little on the small side for off-hand work- the fingers of the left hand get bunched a bit on that slender surface....

To be honest Joe I’ve not had a lot to do with Crosman’s, but the easiest way to increase valve open time is to increase the hammer weight, but you need to also fit a power adjuster otherwise you will waste gas as pressure drops, unless of cause you are using bulk fill.

Hey Al,
on my 2250, I have all ready turned new hammer out of brass. I still need to put a hard face on it for whare it hits the valve steem. I got that figured out... I just have to pull the gun apart to do it. I most likely will do a total redo... I figured out how to make it with out having to grove all the way arround it for the sear. Simply drilling holes and a little clean up with the dremmel, just deep enough to catch the sear. That should add just a little more weight.
The weather went south on me so I have to wait for a nice warm day to crony it again. I was peaking at 750 fps with the bulk system using my DI adapter, a modified valve and a 20" barrel. I want to brake 800 fps. w/Co2 and then switch out to HPA running 1600 psi. and see what I get.
I will make an adjuster for the hammer spring. Not hard to do on this one. Even with the Carr stock on it. |

Well spotted Doc! Now where were we...? Yes plastic pump handles, I should leave it as it is considering the age of the gun, but you could paint it black to match the grips.

I've been inner debating trying to work something up out of hardwood for the rifle version- now might be as good a time as any to learn checkering. I've also been thinking Krylon, or bed liner spray for the pistol's pump handle...

Hey Doc,
If you use Duplicolor brand spray on bedliner... Spray it with a fusion primer first... I have not had much luck with the liner sticking on smooth surfaces with out it.

Hey Doc, I am using Duracoat on mine once I get the breech from Rob at RJ Machine and an 18'' barrel/band and a break from Joe when they get product in stock. It is a relatively inexpensive spray-on firearm finish, does not require baking, is available in over 100 colors plus can be mixed for a unique color of your choice.
I started with a $5.00 airbrush on clearance at Harbor Frieght Tools, then got a better quality airbrush for about $20.00, and the HVLP detailgun was less than $30.00 and is used for large projects like spraying an entire barreled receiver a single color. This stuff is very durable. A couple years ago I was deer hunting with my Mosin Nagant and it was about noon so I was gonna take a break, then move to another spot. I had one of my 10-22's with me that I had coated with Duracoat and figured I'd shoot it a few times before I left. As I walked down the old logging road my boot got caught on a rock or root, and I fell. My reflexes held onto the rifle, letting it hit the ground first. It hit hard enough to dent the stock in 3 spots about 1/4" deep, almost pulled a scope ring in half, and dented the scope tube.
The barrel suffered no damage, and the Duacoat chipped off in a spot about the diameter of a BB. No sh*t.
You half to mix it with hardener, and there are other additives such as flexibility additive, gloss additive, matte additive, among others. If interested go to www.lauercustomweaponry.com and see what all they have to offer.
It is stout, but you can change colors. You can have your project bead blasted, or sand it with 600 grit paper enough to give the new color a "bite", just watch your serial #'s. Here's the gear I use, along with a 2 gallon compressor I can carry for mobile jobs and a 30 gallon compressor in the shop. All it takes is 28 to 32lbs of air pressure to apply it. Also in the pics is the measuring tools I use to make sure I get it mixed properly. Hope this may give you an idea. woodhippy
