in 25+ years of airgunning this is a first! shot at 10 yards off hand with my techforce 89 and crosman premier hollowpoint. the pellet stuck in the rim. 20fpe didn't go through. Wink

I've debated over the last couple of years about trying a Techforce (I was looking at the 99 Preimer). How do you like your, 89? I got the 66 just because it was a good buy and looked interesting. It came packed with the famous Chinese yellow greas that gives wonderful smoke when you shoot it. I don't plan to undo it unless I have trouble with it, it's sloppy but works great.

tech force:

cheap. luck of the draw on QC. i actually have 2. the first was defective(long story won't get into) compasseco let me keep it and sent me another.(marginal service from compasseco, won't buy there again).

the new one isn't broken in yet. the first throws RWS superdomes @ a smoking 815 fps! trigger???? luck of the draw. a suggestion of a first stage...kinda. for the money a bam-26 is better (of course the stock on mine is cracked, not as much power).

it's big, an inch or 2 shorter than the RWS 350 mag. cocking is way easier after 500-700 shot break in. not super thwangy, fairly hold sensative, it takes some work on your part to hit something. my new one has trueglow sights which i like.

if you can handle the size and hold it's not a bad cheapy, just luck of the draw. check out airgunweb.com for the review. this guy is why i have one. my chrony #'s are higher than rick's.

Looking at what happened to that can, the physics of it are crazy. 20 fpe is like 10 times over what it takes to get through a can. But the pellet hit the strongest part of the can and you can see how the rim wrapped all the way around the pellet almost. Then it had to pull the rim off the can. But all of the pellets energy was absorbed in that circular rim piece and the energy was dispaced from the center of where the pellet hit as the rim twisted and ripped from the can.

That's the only way the pellet could not penetrate through a can, minus a graze.

(Even my airsoft guns with plastic pellets can perforate cans)
