another thing i love living in the "melting pot" is coming off a 60hr work week, standing in line at the grocery store behind fat useless degenerates buying $400 in groceries on food stamps with a bottle of cognac, don't forget the cognac, dog. then seeing them drive off in a mercedes on fat rims. happens every day.
uh oh. more of my "right wing" opinion.
This was written by a construction worker in Fort McMurray Read on……
I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes, and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to earn that pay check, I work on a rig site for a Fort McMurray construction project. At any time I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem. HOWEVER, what I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test!!!!!!! Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Understand - I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their a$$, drink beer and smoke dope or any kind of illegal drug. Could you imagine how much money this country would SAVE if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? If you agree, please pass this along, or simply delete if you don't. Hope you will pass it along though, because something has to change in this country. |

| Honestly, I've been saying that for years myself. I'm all for someone that WORKS having privacy as what their personal "hobbies" are on their off time. So long as it doesn't jeaprodize my life while at work. But if you want that government check every month...prepare for random drug screening. |

Forget all that. I think it should be required of you to be a "LEGAL" citizen to recieve welfare benefits. Do you know they even have translators and applications with different languages??? WTF? At least be able to speak the national language before you come looking for a handout. Some estimates were reported that over 10 million 'illegals' recieve government assistance. Do the math on that one. Recession? What recession???Dont even get me started on Obama. Yeah, yeah, yeah "Hawaii's Own" Hussien. Rubbish. Two words for him 'Birth Certificate' ... Just my .02
I know "right wing". Funny how it has the word 'right' in it. Ring a bell? Or is 'gray' the new right and wrong? Pau for now... |

A urine test eh? Now that's an idea!
The last warehouse I worked at used a "mouth swab" type test. It's a faster, and easier test to administer. Within minutes, they had the results.
I had to train several non-english speaking people in the last two weeks at work. It's a good thing they picked up on the job fast, because there was no way to communicate with them other than hand gestures and what little bit of Spanish that I know. The last one must have known a little English, he knew exactly what "break time" meant. |

| oh yeah and they know the word payday too, then they send there money home so the rest of there families can come over and be a burden. My taxes here in the county where I work and live pay for 4 teachers full time to teach english to the children who come to school and cannot speak english. And if anybody wants to be upset by this I paid $6000 in school taxes this year... just kinda makes you feel ill. everyone have a good day Howard |

I am on disability, and if it wasn't for that, I would have lost everything by now. I used to work until I got sick. I worked 60 hour weeks. I have schizophrenia, and I can't hold down a job because I just can't think fast enough or well enough anymore. My only friends are online, because most of my IRL friends just can't understand me anymore. I still have episodes, but the medicine that your tax dollars pay for keeps me good enough to try to be a father to my 2 boys and to be a father to my grandson which my wife has custody of. I'm not tryting to give you a sob story, but thank you from a guy who lives off of social security because he can't find anything else. I don't have a Mercedes, and I don't have a big fancy house, and I don't goof off. My family truly needs the money, or I wouldn't be on it. I hope nobody on this board holds it against me, but airguns are the only hobby I have, and if it wasn't that I won a writing contest to have my discovery, I wouldn't have anything but wal-mart specials for airguns.
I don't spend your money on frivolous things, as a matter of fact, I buy pellets and not much else with your money. It goes for taking care of my family. I can promise you it won't be wasted on a new car, or anything else that we don't absolutely need. We do have 3 vehicles, but that is because with my grandson here too, we have to have a minivan to haul all three kids. I don't want to get rid of my car, because it is the last bit of independence I have. My wife has to have her 4wd tracker because the school she teaches at is out in the middle of nowhere and without that 4wd she wouldn't be able to get to work on bad winter days.
I just wanted to let you all know that your money is being treated right in my case.
Thank you!
Todd |

Todd,
I hear ya. While I came here with somewhat of a "story" and seeking advice. There's one thing to be thankful of. Now according to left-wingnuts we don't have socialzied healthcare. Odd how that is, that since my mother was transfered to the local county hospital she hasn't had to pay a dime for her medical care. Chemo treatments, MRI's, Pet scans, x-rays...ect Are not cheap. Nor are yer prescriptions. And we get those for free too.
Sure this has had some negative affects, because of the distance and timing involved, I cannot apply for full time work. And we often don't have alot of food in the house. But I ALWAYS try to maintain a positive attitued.
My experience with county provided health care and medicine has given me atleast one idea on how to make it more efficent though.
Each patient is given a patient ID number in the form of a barcode. Instead of having me drive down to the hospital a day or two after each doctor's visit, why cannot I take my mother's perscription, along with this ID to my local Walgreens, Osco, Wal-Mart, CVS? And then have those stores bill back the state? That eases up the staffing at the hospitals as well as drive more people into these retails stores...
Another things I've been thinking about. For the last few years, every September we take all our utility bills, and income statements down to our local LiHeap office in order to apply for assistance with gas and electric. We do get some assistance, but still not enough to offset the entire bill. Would it not make more sense to have a solar panel company come out and install enough panels so we could recieve more power from the sun? This would be a one time investment for them. I mean after all, they already spent a small fortune "weatherizing" our house. |

non english speaking immigrants are burdens????
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
that is the entire inscription on our beloved statue of liberty.
my grand parents came over here in the early 1920s and could not speak english, not a word, when they both passed on in the late 60s, they knew only a few words in english. no where does it say "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free (provided they speak english)"
this country that we all love so much, was built by immigrants!!! immigrants that could not speak english, but were willing to do the hard jobs that most "english speaking natives" were not willing to do!!! same holds true to this day. i dare any of you to go out to the fields and pick strawberries for less than minimum wage. you wont do it. the immigrants will, and be glad for the work.
the "illigals" arent taking jobs away from citizens.... the citizens arent willing to take the jobs for what they pay. you think our economy is in shambles now??? what do you think would happen if the produce growers were forced to hire workers at union wages or even minimum wage?? we wouldnt be able to afford a can of corn!!!
personally i admire the immigrants that come over here, live 15 in a house, take whatever sh*t job they can find, just to have a CHANCE at living a better life.
i'll step down from my soapbox now, even thou i havent even scratched the surface of this one. |

Them's fightin words dummyracer. Yeah, I'm all for immigrants, my great greats were as well. The difference is...the illegals. I don't care how you spin it, they're hurting our country by the billions in revenue and lost wages.
I don't care what country they come from, want to better themselves, get in line, just like your family and my family did so many years ago.
It is my belief that it's that very mixture of people from all around the world that has made our country as great as it is. But to use the same analogy... If America is the melting pot of the world, we therefore MUST control the flame under it and the rate at which ingredients are added. If we don't you end up with a pot boiling over causing a mess all over the stove. |
