Have always wanted a lathe at home but becuase of
the gear at work have been able to get around not
having one at home. Finaly got sick of running to and
from work in the weekends or only having a short time
at lunch to turn stuf up. taking half finished bits out of
the lathe and putting them back in the next day they
never run quit true again.
Have been looking around for a lathe small enough for home
but I didn't want a baby with a 20mm spindle bore & veriable speed control...
found this sucker -38mm spindle bore / gear box & 600 between
centre's ,powered carriage & cross slide. and only $2,400
So I just hit the order button hopefuly it will be close by the end of the week
Now I mite start making muzzelbreaks / silencers etc & selling them
next job clear a space for it
prise dosen't include the stand

That’s a nice piece of kit, it should keep you happy for a long time. My criteria for buying a lathe is get the biggest you can afford within reason, I had a Colchester lathe at my place of work and when I retired I brought it home, when the fork lift lowered it on to the workshop floor it fell through ( crap foundations), so it was cheaper to sell the Colchester and buy a smaller machine than redo the foundations.
