I have purchased the Barska 3-12X40 AO airgun scopes for $55 each along with Accushot one piece mounts for my Bam B40 and HW 80 which are easy to sight in and will stay on target.

I recently purchased a Tasco Golden Antler 3-9X32 AO airgun scope for $40 to use on my BAM B26-2 but the adjustment knobs kept coming loose even with loctite, so I sent it back to Optics Planet to exchange for a Barska scope.

Also the one piece scope mounts keep your scope in place.

I'm sooo confused now scopes my head is spinning. After I mentioned that I placed my order for my 2300kt, I was seeking scope recommendations. Didn't get many replies. So I began educating myself on scopes... and I'm more confused then ever now.

Although I do understand the importance of a scope with a good parallax is important now and how it effects the site picture.

I'm mostly confused about what variblity I should be looking at. As I read on one website, for game that you may be targeting that's close you want a lower variblity of say 2-4x, yet still be able to target game that's further away.

Two examples I can think of right off the bat. The first I've had happen already. I've taken a shot with my 1077 and missed. The target realized something was up and began running all over haphazardly.

The second instance, I can only imagine has happen to others and I will eventually experince. Let's say for a second I see a nice fat juicey tree rat. I take a shot, miss him, but manage to knock him off his perch. He fall to the ground. Now instread of being 75-100 feet up in a tree, the critter is now 20 feet away on the ground. I need to be able to focus quickly between the two.

So I've been looking at scopes with 2x or 3x on the lower end, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for on the top end. I've read that even CW doesn't often push his Condor past 150 yards. Although it would be nice, but I cannot see my modified 2300 using HPA achieving this. So, therefore it make no sense in my mind to spend extra cash on something that can see a fly in the next county over.

I do realized that something else comes into play here. A quality stereo that can achieve 500 watts will sound aweseom, even if one never plays it that loud, where as one that only can achieve 100 watts, probably sounds like crap turned all the way up.

My next quandry is wheither or not to go with an illuminated reticule. I've never had a scope with one that was illiuminated other then one of those cheapo ones that crosman sells. What are the pro's and con's to this? Is green better then red? If you don't turn it on, does the reticule look like a regular one?

After everything I've read on here and on other websites, some of which go into detail about how to select a scope, one scope stands out above all other for my application.

It's a bit pricey for my tastes, but it does fit many of my requirements. One of which is that it's a a compact scope. I think a full sized scope would look "off" if mounted on a pistol. Unless someone can prove me wrong of course, or show me one that better fills my needs.

If you really just want a value scope, get anything that is 4x32. Duplex or mildots. The magnification is ok for hunting and targets out to 35 yards. A 3-9x40 will take you out to 50 yards for hunting, the reticle may be too big for sharpshooting paper.

I shimmed the mount on my 4-16x40ao mildot for my Diana 34 yesterday. Now it works perfect and was easily shooting empty pellet tins at 50 yards, using the mildot feature.

i have the same rifle. the cross hairs on the stock scope twisted 25 degrees after 10 shots. i just threw it in the garbage.
I bought a gammo scope combo dealy. 4 x 32, with a 1 peice mount, along with a light and laser mounted above the scope.
it works well, its rated for the reverse recoil.
once i got it all figured out, it will stack pellets at 25 Yds, if i concentrate on my techniqe. i practice shooting a hangin beer can at 25 yds from standing, with a looose grip.
I like mine alot, now that iv;e got it figured out.
Keep playin, once you find what works with your particuler gun, it should shoot fine Mr. Green

I also bought one of those duel calibers from Wal Mart.Took it back the same week.I'm sure the Daisy pellets had alot to do with the inaccuracy for .177,but the .22 did'nt shoot that bad.I was using Crosman Premeir Hollow Points,I think.

Anyway,I have found that Crosman Hollow Points at Wal Mart in .177 work pretty good in my Beeman R9.For a bit more $$ the RWS Super Dome and JSB Express seem to work good too.Only thing with the CPs at Wal Mart is I have noticed slight inconsistancy in the size,some fit tighter than others.

In my opinion for .177,a good quality medium weight dome pellet works best.I would'nt mess around with pointed or waddcutters,thats just me.
