A buddy and I went out and dusted these little buggers this afternoon. All three were males. Two blacks and a red.

My Daisy 880 actually did a dissapointing job. I think my buddy was using a Benjamin but I'm not sure. We used his to get the actual kill shots. The pellets were crossman pointed.
I'm in the market for a new hunting pellet gun for a reasonable price. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions. |

That looks like the Daisy 880 in the picture.
My nephew has an 880 and it seems to shoot very accurate and consistant using the same # of pumps.
But they aint made like they was 30 years ago when I was a kid.
If you want a sub $100 rifle,I would look into a Crosman 2100/.177 or 2200/.22 or Remington Air Master 77 (same as the 2100).
I've had the 2100 before (my brother has it now) and it's a good gun for the price.
But if you are gonna do much huntin with it,and it looks like you will,the RWS model 34 in .22 caliber would be an exellent rifle.I have'nt shot one,but from reviews alot of people like them. |

| I don't think the 34 has velocity left at 50 yards in .22. I know my .177 shooting superdomes is 2 mildots low at 50 yards with 12x40 scope. .22 would have to be light pellets if you can't make over a foot holdover. |

Sorry if I made a mistake on the info.I am not a hunter and have not shot the 34,so you are probly correct on this.
I was just going by what I've read.I did have a Model 48 in .22 caliber,I never really meassured the distance but when it hit a pine tree around 200' it sounded like it hit harder than a my R9 in .177,RWS Super Dome in both calibers.
And also Dead Coyote,Umarex USA has refurbs real cheap.before I got my R9 I called them and they had refurb 34' in .177 and .22 for like $134.00 including shipping.But you have to call them for availability. |

| I was going to say. I doubt that bb gun would be able to dispatch three tree rats. You might get lucky and kill one after about ten shots. |
