If they're an air shotgun- sure, why not.

I figure it's all the same. If it's powered by air and you can put a slug in it, it's a rifle.

If you're that concerned call the police department (get their phone number, don't call 911), and just ask to speak to the sergeant or anyone who can access information about gun and hunting laws. They should know.

If not, who cares? Go hunt.

Oh, I do suppose you can consider a shotgun a rifle if you are firing a slug. I also assume that if you shoot a snake load or frangible from a rifle it could be considered a shotgun.

For those of you that do not know, a snake load is a plastic shell with steel shot in it. The plastic shell is loaded into the casing over the powder just like a lead bullet would be. Usually used in a powderburning revolver. It is used at a maximum of 15 yards, to ward off dangerous snakes or kill one in a dangerous situation.

If you're thinking of getting an air shotgun- be careful, it seems that they are really only good for small birds at close range, not much else.

That sounds foolish and painful.

i guess, its not that bad though, we cover the open parts of our bodies with body armor, we wear whole cover face protection including eyes. and our guns aren't all that powerful, my most powerful gun is a FAMAS.

Stick to airsoft for shooting at people, not lead pellet guns or BBs. We also don't tolerate that sort of foolishness here.

IIRC the FAMAS shoots a 5.56x45 NATO. You must not have many live friends.
