I don't like the design of them. They seem like they would wreck your barrel and spring with a lot of use. But they had to have something in mind when they made it right? Someone has to be doing good with these things right? Somewhere, someone is thinking these are the best pellets ever, I would imagine.

So has anyone found these things to be accurate past 30 feet? Or was speed and marketing hype the ONLY reason Gamo made PBA pellets?

I tried them. I don't have a gun that likes them, and they're expensive. Besides, we don't have many wild boars around here, so I don't need them.

I tried them too. Couldn't hit the broadside of a bull's a$$. They also just cost too dang much.

Marketing. Gamo doesn't care if they are functionally useful- they just want to sell them (at a rather high price it seems).

Crosman has already gotten rid of their higher-priced "lead free" pellets- they appeared, and less than a year later they were discontinued (I think it was about 6 months actually). Don't know if the Crosman's were any good or not, but they were more expensive (not as much as the Gamo PBAs mind-you) and obviously Crosman didn't sell large numbers of them.

If no one bought them- Gamo would discontinue them as well. The issue? Like you guys, I bought some at a hefty price to see what they were all about, don't exactly love them- but I'm still holding the receipt for a package. Who wants to bet there is another 200,000 people out there in the same boat?

on my winchester 1000sb i had they worked great. Hit a half inch bullseye everytime. Then my scope broke on it and havent used that one since. Gonna get another scope on it and try em again

In my some-what limited experience with them, I learned enough not to buy anymore. Out of a low velocity air pistol, they lose velocity quite rapidly- more quickly than a lead pellet does. I couldn't get them to group well enough out of any of my rifles to justify the almost dime-a-pop cost. 1/2" at 15 M is nothing to write home about when more cost friendly lead pellets shoot much tighter...

I just gotta shake my head at some of the stunts being pulled these days- marketing, or other-wise.

I have'nt tried these,but I was at Bass Pro Shop not long ago and talked to this feller that said they are the most amazing,most accurate,fastest and best huntin pellet he has ever used.

I took his word for it,but I'll stick with quality lead pellets(not Daisy either).The domes seem to shoot best for me.

They've made some money and broken some guns so they can sell more. Those things are way too light for all but the lightest power springers or maybe compressed air like a pumper. All they do is contribute to spring breakage and piston slam. Plus many guns do not shoot them accurately.

Misinformation exists in any big retail chain. Do you thing they really train these people. Try going into a so called Computer Store and ask the sale person anything remotely technical. Rolling Eyes

What was the first scope, air gun rated? Maybe a really cheap one? Skip the PBA's, which will cost you much more in broken seals and piston in the long run, and put the money for those into the new scope. You'll be much happier, the gun will be happier, the critters will be happier, too, when you are able to dispatch them humanely with a well-placed lead pellet.

I use them now and then in my co2 pistols but that's about all. I have some on hand. When those are gone, I probably won't go for anymore. For lower power guns Beeman Lasers work fine.
