Many know him as the author of that great book, "It's A Daisy"

Cass Sheffield Hough, former president of the Daisy Manufacturing Company, the maker of air rifles, died Monday at his home in Naples, Fla. He was 85 years old.

A spokesman for the company said Mr. Hough died of a heart attack.

Mr. Hough succeeded his father, Lewis Cass Hough, as president of the company in 1959. The company was founded by his grandfather, Lewis Cass Hough, in 1886. Mr. Hough remained as president until 1975, when he became president of Victor Recreation Products Group, of which Daisy was a part. He retired in 1976, when Victor was acquired by Kidde Inc.

He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Peshut; two sons, Cass Jr. and Christopher; a daughter, Emily Louise; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Well, condolences from a Dutch airgun enthusiast, even though Daisy air rifles aren't available here.

I read the book - one can just imagine what this man has seen in his life of airguns.

Our best to his family . . .
