I finished the base earlier today so I've blued all the parts assembled it and fitted it on the Winchester, but I have'nt tried it yet.
It has both elevation and windage adjustment, folds down when not in use and when raised locks into the correct position, the peep disc is threaded so you can change size without losing any settings.
When I get round to trying it out I will post the results.

That is so cool!!
I love the 'flip-down' feature!
Looks like you put a lot of time and effort in to it Al, And the blueing job appears flawless!!
Also the piece of "Spring steel" used for indexing is very ingeniouse, You don't have to drill a hole in your Rifle for an index rod now.
I can't wait to hear the results!!!

Thanks Stevie, I did drill one hole in the tang for a small locating screw to stop the sight from moving which is not a problem, if I want to take the sight off I can just put a screw in the hole. The bluing I did with a gas torch because the sight will get plenty of ware and chemical blue would not stand up to it, |

That does look cool. I'd like to know how well it works out as well- especially how easy/difficult it is to adjust as required. |
