Does anybody knows what spring to use as replacement for a rws 460 I was looking at Air Rifle Headquartes site ( Maccari ) and seems like there's a spring that fits many Rws rifles , I just want to make sure I order the right one , how can a RWS 34 use the same spring as a 460 , if the 460 is a MAGNUM GUN , Im also ordering a piston a seal , any advise would be great , thanks..

Why don't you send them an E-mail.

Also look for full power tunes, and not 12 Fpe tunes.

There are a lot of guns that have a spring that is simply to powerfull. With those RWS Magnums, tuning often means less power, more accuracy.

Don't worry though, they'll have plenty of power left. Exclamation

Like Broommaster, an e-mail to JM could solve your dilemma. As a reminder, piston stroke, compression cylinder i.d.(swept volume), port size, seal design and other factors all contribute to the "magnum" classification.

What ever you find, I hope you post your results here because a RWS 460 is on my short list.

Hey Guys, here's what I ended up doing , I called UMAREX, and they have the original springs and piston seals at a very good price ( springs $ 18 + shipping seal are a little high 14 ea. ) , so I order from them, it's a good thing that they sale those parts to the public because some time ago I tried to get parst for some Gamos , from GAMO USA , and they don't sale it to public you have to send your rifle and pay for shipping both ways , luckily for me I found someone here in the forum that sells Gamo springs and other parts , I feel better now ..... thanks .

everybody,
i've asked this under different topics and can't find what i'm looking for. i need the barrel bushing for the gamo 440. as we all know gamo offers nothing but the (send it back so we can look at it) answer. this is the last part i need to finish my refurb. charliedatuna told me i can go to a machine shop and have one made but then, if i get it apart.... that's a can of worms. i cannot find any source for this part. i put a fiber optic sight on it, a macarri spring and grt trigger and this gun is smooth. lord jesus, where can i get the bushing!! I'm not really sure what you mean with a barrel bushing...

where the barrel connects to the reviever, it has play side to side. i'm understanding the 44o has a plastic washer on either side that i can replace with steel washers by using a caliper to get the right size??? does this make sense?

This certainly is possible. I did the very same thing on my Crosman G1, and it did improve cocking smoothness. I dressed down the thickness of my washers by rubbing them on a Carborundum sharpening stone. Remember that I.D. and O.D. might also have to be altered.

I.D. = Inside Diameter
O.D. = Outside Diameter

Bob Werner aka CDT, gave good advise regarding the barrel pivot bushing.
Would also check to see if the receiver fork has spread. If so, bring the forks back to parallel and square with the receiver, then check the pivot side washers for slop.
If you don't have the tools and measuring instruments, it's a pretty safe bet that the machine shop will.
