That's a good idea. While we're at it, make it mandatory that
all presidential candidates have to take IQ and mental competency
tests so that the contry never has to suffer through another sawed
off, ignorant little prejudiced redneck's whims again.

I voted Irish, but not for McCain. I voted for O'Bama.

Hard to tell. Maybe Bush got favors at Yale? While Obama was paid by Bill Aires and Kallidi to get through Harvard. Sarah Palin paid her own way through college and was the only bright spot in the whole mess.

I think that macbush could of at least pick an intelligent
running mate, instead of that bimbo. What an embarrassment
to them, having her talk to the press. She knows as much about
the world abroad as the embarrassent of a president we have
now, does.

Oh well, at least the evil will be gone 012008.

You know it is exactly these kinds of un-informed gullible and emotional approach to voting that caused our founding fathers to struggle with allowing "just anyone" to vote. Thus we have a representative form of democracy to try to weed out the "dumb ones".

I stepped back a while back, as so far as I could see the "BS" topic was simply turning into "cw attacks the president" or something like that. I watched him call the president nurmous names and now he's moved to calling Sara Palin a "bimbo".

Personally I wish "we" (consider the "we" either conservative thinkers or Republicans) had chosen a different candidate. I think most of the Republican base was more voting against Obama than for MaCain. But even with the recent attacks from the ever popular "un-named sorces" on her, Sara Palin still has extremely high approval ratings (something over 90% among republicans and 60+% among others asked). Insult her all you want, she was the draw on the ticket, not Macain.

Macain ended up as the candidate on the argument that the "only way" the republicans could win was to "go to the middle", it had to be a moderate. That has now pretty much been shown to be a myth. (as it has been every time it's been tried, remember Bob Dole?) Personally I believe that the late attacks on Palin are a sort of "premtive strike" by "un-named" moderates because it seems the party may now be forced back to it's base, the conservatives. (Note cw that the phrase is "conservative" not "regressive" the idea is not to lose what is good just to "change". In other words, don't throw the baby out with the bath water.)

As to now. I won't be taking part in attacks on President-elect Obama. I believe that his policies will spell disaster for the country, but I hope I'm wrong and will give the office the respect it deserves. I will comment on problems if they come up but will try to give the man the benifit of any doubt.

cw, you get on my nerves. I have heard and read the "boy aren't we inteligent" (here I'd like to use a negative descriptive word, but will refrain. If I don't think cw should call me stupid, I'll not negatively describe his argument) argument all along. It's a chours that Obama supporters have flung about constantly. It fails to hold a lot of water when a group has to keep telling everyone else "how smart" they are themselves.

So, Mr. Obama will be president, and he is the president of all Americans and we should give him that chance. I would simply urge those who consider themselves "liberial" or "progresive" to do the same the next time a president they disagree with comes to office.
