Good idea. Silicone is death for trying to get even blueing. |

CW:
Thanks for the tip!
I've tried mineral spirits followed with laquer thinner, acetone and tri-clorothene...none completely removed the silicone.
Cascade...never thought to try it, but will next time.
Thanks again,

Hi..try stainless steel picking gel. Do a test first on something as
it contains nitric acid. I have used it on small parts for painting
and anodizing |

CW..its a gel/paste that you brush on the weld area on stainless steel & leave for a few mins then scub off with water and adbrasive cloth to clean the burnt & discoloured area aroung the weld. |

Where you guys reading my mind??? I had to modify a brake and was just going to touch it up... Wrong...
Damn you guys are alot like my wife... always knowing when I screwed up and what I am thinking...
You know a mind is a terrible thing...
I found out that the Lucas Gun Oil is a pain in the @$$ if you need to re-blue anything...
I have tried all of the above but the cascade + BC Gun Scrubber and HD Bore Cleaner and none of it works...
See... stuff like this is what I love about AirGunHome...
Let's face it... "AirGunHome is a better place to be" |
