Why can't you own airguns over 500 fps? Can you own firearms? |

Is a liscense that hard to get? I heard it's a 6 hour course from a friend who has family there.
Over here you first need to be on a club for 2 years, shoot well and prove you can do safety. You also have to get a background check and papers to prove you're not some kind of terroristic loon. Then when you are allowed to buy your own gun, you have to buy special gun lockers (That aren't cheap) too, and you can get an unexpected police visit once in a while, and they will look around if things are tidy or not. If they're not, it's bye bye to your gun.
With airguns, there aren't any laws yet. |

Hi..Fined a PCP that will toss a .22 29gr pellet at 500fps still gives yer about 15ftlbs better some springers.
Looks like the air gun laws over here are in for a BIG shake up.
2 undercover cops were shot with a PCP while planting a tracking device
on a car outside a drug lab one cops died and the other is in hospital.
This only happened a week ago.
Think the gun make was a FX . |

You can turn any pumper or Co2 gun (within limits) into a PCP. However, you would then have a "firearm" under Canadian laws as well- requiring a license and registration.
A basic 2289 can have the "detuned" valve replaced and a longer barrel (i.e. 18" or 24") installed, a flat-top piston for pumping it up and you will end up with a 650fps/15fpe "firearm" as well.
That all being said, if you had a license and were going to register it, the parts to improve the basic 2289 as a pumper are readily available, but I have not seen a PCP conversion "kit" anywhere. To make one a PCP you would need an improved valve (not the "detuned" unit) and a connection from the remote tank to the gun's existing pump tube, eliminating the pump parts.
Has anyone seen a 1322/1377 PCP conversion? It would be the same thing for the 2289 which is basically a 1322 with a removable stock and longer barrel on it. Any links would be handy. |

Rabbit- yes- it is a .22 cal gun.
That being said- you could probably achieve this with just a proper valve and a flat-top piston. There is a kit available from this guy (his name is Ken): http://crustybs.biz/crusty/
His email is: orders@crustybs.biz
Tell him I sent you- his website is still under construction and I don't see the FTP kit listed- but he absolutely does have them although I can't remember the price- somewhere around $30-35 I believe. |
