I bought a Gamo Shadow Shot gun about 2 months ago and every thing was working fine until ....I lend the the gun to a friend. Any way to make the story short. The gun doesn't have POWER anymore when it's shot. Any ideas as what could be wrong with it. no scrathes, no dents, ..

Maybe someone might have a diagram of the rifle

Well there's your problem right there!

I'd call your friend up and ask him how he broke your gun. That might at least clue you in as to how to fix it.

On a serious note, sounds like your not getting any air pressure in the piston. Probably blew a seel. I bet the guy was dry firing it.

Well, in short, the rifle is broken. Can it be fixed? Probably. But that will entail dismantling it and replacing the broken parts. May not even be worth your while doing. I feel for you if you can't fix it, that sucks.

Let this be a lesson to the rest of the world. DO NOT DRY FIRE SPRINGERS!

If you don't hear any clanking or scraping when you cock it- it is likely just a torn seal.

Can you get a replacement? I'm sure Gamo will sell you one. What will it cost? I have no idea. Do you have the ability to take it apart and reassemble it without doing any further damage? Only you can answer that. The only other option is to send it out for repair and maybe a tune job- but that will likely run you somewhere around $150.00 which may not be worth it in the case of this gun- again, your decision.

Try this for seals:
http://www.airguns.citymax.com/page/page/251485.htm
The spring isn't just loose in there - it is always compressed a little. This means that if you just take the gun apart, it will go sproing! and possibly cause injury. You will need to make a spring compressor to be safe:

You have to make the call regarding your father. If he is a homicidal drunk, then avoid the issue. If he's a normal dad, then give him a chance. Sure, he will be mad for a while. But he'll get over it, and then he might even help you with the seal (and while you're in there, maybe a little tuning).

If you take any gun apart, I advise one thing....WEAR SAFTEY GLASSES! You can take injuries to nearly any other part of your body and it will heal. The one place it will do lasting damage is in your eyes. So protect them.

Btw donsammy, how old are you?

I'm asking because if he is 16 then I'd encourage him to try to take it apart. If he's 12, then not so much.

I've never taken apart a springer, but I'd reccommend taking it apart (carefully) and looking in and seeing what you can find. Then you can order the necessary parts once you know what you'll need.

The other guys here can probably help you with additional information.
