I own a .177 CFX, stock with the exception of a GRT-III trigger

I have lurked around for a while, but havent found much info for the CFX

anyone want to share? Mr. Green

I personally don't own one- but seeing as how the CFX was copied by the Chinese and the copies came out pretty well (B18s, B19s), then Crosman bought the rights to the platform from the Chinese for the North American market (sold, slightly modified, as the Quest, Phantom, TAC-1, G1 and Remington Summit models)- maybe no one sees the need to purchase an "original" these days?!?

In principle, yes they would. Would specific parts you bought that fit, for example, a Crosman Quest, work on the CFX? That I can't answer without a CFX in front of me- but if you want to give it a try- let us all know how it works! I know I'd be interested.

Could you take your CFX apart, post pictures (close ups) of the different parts and have a set of calipers ready to take measurements? We could compare what you have with what's in a Crosman and see about mixing parts.

Hi guys, I got a .22 cfx about 2 years back can't count the bunnys & tree bears "possums" this thing has droped I have never considered moding it as it works so well as it is but its in need of a spring and seals now.
6 mounths back i got a 1.77 copy of the cfx a Geox gx120 its bit of a beast aswell but not having a 1.77 cfx to compare with I don't know if its as good as the real thing.
Ps .. As long as I point the gun pull the trigger and a bunny or tree bear dies its a good gun.

Very accurate I have two .177 and .22 an the only thing I have done to the guns is a basic tunning , disambling and lubrication with Maccari products take a look at this http://www.geocities.com/temp_cfx/index_en.htm and you dont have to spend on a GRT trigger to make the firing better , if you remove the trigger alone it has the spring in it just remove it and you have a very smooth pull and best of all it's perfectly safe , I did it and it works fine.

I'd like to have a tuned cfx, but i'd rather learn how to do it myself then pay someone else to do it

If you are prepared to take it apart and post pictures- and keep a measuring device handy- I'm betting we could all figure out what will work in/with the CFX and help direct you through it!

Just to thrown it in, and I must qualify that I have never dealt with "richfrommich"- but the fact he still sells roller thrust bearings disturbs me.

Everyone else has deserted them due to premature failure and possibly piston/tube damage- but he's still marketing them. Using that as a standard to choose a tuner or a parts kit- I'm thinking that Jim Maccari or CharliedaTune might be a better bet.

Anyone have any other sources or opinions on the matter?

I have dealt with Rich a few times and have seen a lot of his work. He is very good at what he does. I have had him build stuff for me and have been very satisfied. He is also very easy going and straight up, I have talked to him numerous times. He is the guy that steered me to Roald for work on my Ham 850. Rich has stopped making some of the other parts for the Gamos but his tune hits are top notch. I read on the GTA a few days ago that CDT is no longer accepting orders anymore, check it out: http://charliedatuna.com/ I use Maccari kits exclusively for work on HW's and FWB guns, have not tried his stuff for anything else...not yet anyway! I have used lube kits from both JM and Rich, both are excellent products. I don't see a tune kit listed for any Gamos on JM's site. http://www.airguns.citymax.com/page/page/251488.htm Read this:

Read up before you attempt to do any work on your gun, make sure you have the right tools and some scrap to make some useful odds and ends and hope you have a Harbor Freight store near buy! Take your time and do your research and you will be so happy with your gun! The best part is when your friends bring their guns over and shoot yours!

I think you are right about tunning a rifle with RICH IN MICH, but for people outside USA, is impossible to send a rifle to RICH IN MICH. So we only can buy the spare parts and do it ourselves.

By the way, anybody know the part numbers of the MACCARI´S spring, piston seals and spring guide for GAMO CFX?

coming from the stock trigger, the GRT was actually a very good improvement. the old trigger was so heavy and imprecise that it affected my accuracy. the GRT eliminates virtually all of the frustration of the trigger
